Regarding Lucie Bee and her friends, I agree they have their job and they have their hobby just like everyone else. It would be a different matter if they were soliciting at the event and while Lucie Bee does share some cosplay photos on her page it's mostly a work page.

All of them were pretty good. Someone made Big Daddy which had a moving drill but the Little Sister with him was pretty meh. There was a decent Enchantress which was actually probably the best one I've seen. The Moltress cosplay was well made but I only had an inkling of was Moltres. She really needed wings to make it more recognizable.

A reason people would say no would be if they think their makeup isn't photoworthy as it doesnt stick throughout the whole day especially in Brisbane weather. The Lolita panel was terrible. It lasted all of 10 mins and 5 of that was pulling a Lolita from the audience to discuss her coord. The presenter was muddled and gave misinformation so guess it was good it didn't last too long. Had a poor turn out of 3 people. It might be because Lolita isn't popular at a comic convention perhaps.

When someone makes an original design, they can design everything around what materials and methods they're good at working with- it seems unfair compared to people referencing a set design and pushing themselves to master different methods to create the final result. Not to mention that they can change things as they go to suit themselves if it's their own design.

It should have its own category and shouldn't be eligible to win the grand prize, but that's just my opinion I guess.

There isn't anything in the stuff for the volunteers about cosplay, but there is some stuff about people with mental illness, what things to look out for, situations that might cause panic attacks and how to help and interact with people with mental illness. Actually a pretty good document, clear and concise and not ten million pages long haha. I think there's also some people running an 'afk room' who have experience helping people with mental health issues so hopefully people who are having issues can find help. I always find that there are a lot more volunteers around at pax than other events so hopefully that helps any cosplay issues.

I have some questions about Supanova if anyone could be lovely and answer!

1) What happens on the Friday? Is it worth attending the Friday at all? I heard someone say Friday is good if you are a cosplayer to network and meet photographers etc but I have also heard you just sit in a room ( is this true..?)
2) Is it really worth going all three days? Or do people do this so they can show off three different cosplays? I am tempted to make a third costume if Friday is worth it.

1) Friday is mostly milling about with photographers and friends, at least from my personal experience. You can get your tickets and wristband for stuff too, I think.
2) Most people do it for the three cosplays thing.
3) Personally for me it's Saturday, followed by Sunday and then Friday. Friday should be something simple or easy, as it's the day that has the least attendees.
