New gyaru thread! Let's try it again...

>are both secret pages finally dead?
>what do you think about the new YouTube channel of BD?

Also to be a little positive
>post your top 4 of the gyaru hashtag on instagram

My top 4 of the gyaru hashtag on insta. It was damn hard to find gyaru among all these cosplay weebs
>>
I know it's a stupid question but am I allowed to tan and get into kuro if I'm white ? I don't plan on getting super dark, I just want a cute golden tan

Also what are your favorite tanning products ?? (I'm ghost white...)
>>
>>9163806
...seriously?
>>
>>9163806
You have been on tumblr for too long girl
>>
>>9163791

>that thing on the bottom left is in your "top 4"
>ok.jpg
>>
>>9163827

yeah I know , but most gaijin kurogals I know are black so I was wondering if there was a cultural appropriation thing going on and I don't want a crowd of SJWs running after me all the time
>>
>>9163806
I find greasepaint or shoe polish work best
>>
>>9163806
Actually solarium. If youre THAT white, fake tans tend to look too orange and fake.
Im naturally really white. Im using solarium once a week and self tanner for my face two times a week because my face is always paler than the rest.

Sry for super bad english, hope you understand what i meant
>>
>>9163843
Tbh she looks like the third part of the icelandic twins

>>9163845
And the 'original' kurogals are what? Black? Nope, Asian.

You go for a tan and not for being black and if someone is too stupid to understand the difference between tan and wanting to be black, just ignore them, they're too stupid.

Also, I'd also recommend the tanning salon and lots of lots of moisturizing. Moisturize your skin before you lay down on the bed and when you're done moisture it again. The tan will be super brilliant and will last longer
>>
>>9163930
Please don't use tanning salons. Does fashion really trump cancer risk and wrinkles?
>>
I'm not really an instagram person, but my favourite gaijin gals (going purely on fashion, not personality or anything) are:
> Lau
> Chris
> Kitai
> Jojo

I really love the looks we see from the European gals, America needs to catch up.

>>9163791
Absolute shit tier taste.

>>9163827
This. Go get your tan anon, tanning is fun!

What do you guys think of that BD movie that's coming out? Apparently Barbie's in it.
>>
>>9163936
Oh, and an honourable mention for Noemie and Marie from France, they really nail the Datura model look imo.
>>
>>9163936
Damn, I just picked the first 4 who actually looked gal! Go on the instagram #gyaru hashtag and you'll see how difficult it is if you only go for the most recent post. Also, they all look pretty good? Don't see amything bad there, or have they recently pissed someone off and that's why you don't want them to be praised?
>>
>>9163934
Tanning salons aren't as bad as you might think. Eg many people who have been diagnosed with depression go to tanning salons during autumn to early spring.

Also it's important to use a bed which fits your skin tone, don't do it for too long or too often and the most important thing and that's also about preventing wrinkles is to moisturize.
>>
>>9163950
As I literally just said, I don't do instagram. The tag must be extraordinarily shitty if that's the best you can find, and no it's not a personal vendetta, they're just all crappy looks, apart from Georgie, she's always on point. Try actually researching the style for more than five minutes before assuming that any negative opinion is due to personal drama.

This is why I honestly don't like having gyaru threads on /cgl/, they're always full of the most clueless newfaggots and we can't have any good discussion.

>>9163952
Well, I think it's cool if there are some newbies. I sometimes make a thread on here so that maybe some baby weebs get interested in the style. If we stick with old hags like shiena and ashley forever there'll never be a new generation. People will most likely look like trash in the beginning, damn I did too, I had no clue abput contour hair and so on, but hell I got some harsh concrit and now I'm very good at this style.
>>
>>9163970
Newbies themselves aren't the problem, the thing that pisses me off is newbies who know absolutely nothing but still carry on as if they're experts and shit themselves if someone criticises their post in any way.

And yeah, harsh concrit is really important for gal, I think it's harder to learn due to the lack fo hard and fast rules, you just have to learn the makeup and get a feel for the aesthetic.

>>9163976
Well, those ones you'll most likely find on tumblr or well instagram, but not here. The last two threads have been derailed and killed by a troll, making nasty comments towards gyaru fashion and lifestyle.

It kinda became boring, because there's no room for harsher concrit anymore. At least that's how I see it. And well, even the NEW gs seems like it died after only 30 somewhat posts all out of a sudden.
>>
>>9163983
>Well, those ones you'll most likely find on tumblr or well instagram, but not here
Uh.... >>9163950

And that's typical too. It's always the idiot newbies who think you can't say someone looks bad unless you hate them as a person.

As for gs, I think people just ran out of things to talk about now that Ari, Barbie and Sere are all out of Japan.
>>
>>9163936

thanks anon, i was also kinda afraid because people always compliment my pale skin and are always complaining about theirs not being light enough. but hey I didn't get into gyaru to satisfy other people in the first place and it's not my fault they have shitty self esteem

>>9163863
>>9163930
>>9163951

is there really a thing such as beds for each skintone ? I didn't know. I posted here to get more opinions from actual gals, but I've seen several videos of non-gyaru girls talking about their sunless tanning routine and how to apply them, and they use products like Loving Tan, Sun Goddess, St. Tropez etc. and they always argue that the product they use is the best in the world, so I wanted to know which one is actually the best for the kind of tan you see in gyaru magazines. I wanted to avoid tanning salons since I can barely stand the real sun already, but maybe I will give it a try and ask for more info here, thank you !

about instagram gals i started following gyaruprincessmusic some time ago and even though she isn't the most perfect gal around, her optimism makes me smile kinda
>>
>>9163990
But gs has never been about hoes who go to Japan anyway, but about gyaru?

But hey, there are still people like Chii, Shiena, Arisu, Chris, Kohaku and so on. I still wait for chewie to someday come back, cause she was the best gaijin gal outside of Japan and also the sweetest of them all
>>
>>9163998
In a good salon there will always be several different beds in different strengths and if it's a good salon the shop assistants will help you and give you advice.

I tried self tanning products, but since my skin isn't the best and has never been and I easily react allergic, so they damaged my skin and I wasn't able to breath properly until I washed everything off.

Also, additional advice, apply sunblocker to your face, a thick layer, then you won't get wrinkles, your face doesn't need to be as tan as your body since you'll have to apply makeup anyway

Dude, gs has ALWAYS been about whoever's in Japan at the time. Like, think back to when it was all about Ash and Shiena, that was 100% because they were in Japan, and it's the same with Barbie, Sere and Ari. Notice how nobody cares about Ari as soon as she left grorious nippon? I really think that's why there's no secrets now.

Good taste tho, chewie was a goddess, I really hope she comes back too because she was the only gaijin gal who really nailed Black Diamond style, I was all over her blue hair phase. Who's Arisu? Haven't heard of her
>>
>>9164008
Meant Alice cookie thingy, the girl who married her plastic surgeon.

I once went through the peak posts of the omd gs, out of curiosity and nah it wasn't all about shiena and ash. There were a whole bundle of secrets about newbies, trainwrecks, weebs, and so on. I think there still should be secrets at least about shiena, because damn she's super annoying rn, better should go off to see a specialist, she doesn't seem alright at all.

Maybe it's just that people are more cautious on social media then, it's not like you really see anything controversial on SnG now like you used to. As for Shiena, she's just kind of pretentious, it's not like she's mentally ill.
>>
>>9164021
>Since you don't seem to know her
Haha sorry I don't know your nobody ass senpai, maybe try not looking like shit before pulling the 'do you even know who I am' card. Onee style isn't an excuse to look like a potato, it's supposed to actually be glamorous.
>>
>>9163843
>>9163952
Charlotte looks just fine. Since you don't seem to know her, be aware that her style is onee gyaru, and she has been in the comm for at least 5 years or more. You talk about researching style, but have you researched onee gyaru in the first place?

>>9163930
Well they are all blonde white onee gyarus, so they have that part in common.
>>
>>9164028

To prevent wrinkles you need to avoid the sun/tanning beds and use sunscreen
>>
>>9163998
>>9164005
>tanning beds
ISHYGDDT

Why do you want wrinkles and saggy skin?? Sure, get some sun once in a while to help you feel better, but don't for the love of god sit and bake yourself in a tanning bed. You don't need a huge amount of sun exposure to get adequate levels of vit D, only a small amount of exposure a day to some sunlight is enough, and you can get it from food or supplements too.

I use gradual tanner. It takes practice but you can get it to look quite dark and very natural. The key is to be vigilant about blending it out, and to wash your palms properly at the end. Then use a wet cloth to wipe down the areas it usual makes too orange. Gradual tan makes you much more susceptible to UV so you must wear sun cream when you are using it.
I use St. Moriz mousse which is a cheap brand in the UK when I want instant tan, and it works fine for me. Different brands have different colours, so you just need to shop around.

To each their own. As said before, I'm highly allergic to various kinds of self tanners so no use of them for me. But going to the tanning salon a total of maybe 5 times in my life woke up my tiny bit of melanin and now I easily tan by just walking out into the real sun.

Anyway, can someone tell me where I can find scans of the agehas after their revival? My local anime store still doesn't sell them
>>
>>9164204
Do you tan your face, or no? I've been dabbling in self tanner, and I want to tan my face but I'm afraid of it getting streaky, and I wash my face so much it won't last anyway
>>
>>9164668
I tan my face with self tanner (Garnier summer something or other), it won't get streaky as long as you apply it evenly, and if you do get patches you can easily balance it out with makeup.
>>

>>9164668
>>9164679
Why would you tan your face and risk outbrakes and streaks? If you put on makeup for gyaru anyway?
>>
>>9164664
That's shitty anon. A small amount of exposure won't kill you, it just hurts my brain to read people defending tanning beds. My mother went on one regularly (probably a few times a week) for a few years in her 20's, and is significantly more wrinkly than her twin sister. I hate getting wrinkles and wouldn't want to speed up that process.

>>9164668
Yes, I use gradual tanner on my face sometimes. I mix it well with a little moisturizer so it's not as concentrated. I don't use mousse on my face. It never looks streaky, but don't go ham on your face because your skin is much more sensitive. Also remember to wear sun cream.

>>9164726
If you have a dark body, you don't want a pale face. It doesn't have to be the exact same shade, since you can put a little bronzer on. If you find a product which doesn't break you out then why not.
>>
>>9164726
I have eczema and my self-tanner is also a really good moisturiser, so it feels really nice on my face. Also I like to not look like a fucking joke with no makeup on.
>>
>>9164830
are you the anon that uses garnier summer body? I love that one, smells like peaches, albeit a little too strongly.
>>
>>9164843
Yep, that's me, and I always think it smells of apricots!
>>
>>9164874
That's the one where my face went all bloated from and I didn't got any air to breath anymore
>>
>>9164885
Eeesh, that's unfortunate anon. Do you know which ingredient you were allergic to?
>>
>>9164894
Nope, I threw it away after the third try. I'll rely on the actual sun, I won'T get kuro like in kurogyaru anyway
>>
>>9163936
Hey, chris here! I was going on here hoping to get inspired with tips etc. And wow! Thank you so much!
I completely agree on the other 3 you chose, they all are inspirations to me aswell.
Others who inspire my style are persia, kohaku, motoko and ashley (which has helped me a lot in finding my style together with the girls from regal)
Yaya, ari, lau and kitai are the german girls that most resemble my taste, and after seeing some of the french girls i got some great inspo for dia coords.
I could go on (like how kaylen, miyu, tia and xin inspire my makeup style) but I'd be going on forever and ever haha
>>
>>9165019
Now that i look back at what i just wrote, most are my friends... Haha
Any new girls that show great potential? I haven't been paying attention
>>
>>9165021
Not really as far as I've seen... I just haven't seen many new faces at all, but maybe they post in more local groups before they post to SnG or Tumblr.
>>
As a beginner gyaru I have to ask:
where do you tend to find the best deals on clothes? Ebay? Facebook groups? A mixture of both?
>>
>>9165196
Facebook sales and local shops. But if you are eilling to go for a search, Japanese auction sites are my holy hunting grounds. Mercari japan, yahoo, etc. And tgen i use "from japan" as a shopping service
>>
>>9165196
I think the best places are Mbok and yahoo auctions Japan, and I also find some gyaru brands on secondhand Lolita stores like closet child and wunderwelt
>>
>>9165207
I second this. Facebook groups are nice, but people there tend to sell their used shit way too overpriced. In Japan eg second hand lizlisa never really goes for more than 15$ per dress
>>
>>9165215
>15 dollars

That made me drool a little. There's Liz Lisa dresses on eBay for 65 pounds right now. I've never used a shopping service before though. Is the whole process easy, is postage costly? I'm a little intimidated.
>>
>>9164008
>Good taste tho, chewie was a goddess, I really hope she comes back too because she was the only gaijin gal who really nailed Black Diamond style
To be honest most of the Japanese BD girls looked ratty and skanky as fuck themselves
>>
>>9165290
The fees can add up depending on the weight. Also domestic shipping can sometimes come out to be more than expected. I would suggest just shopping smart during brand sales (there's a few strangling right now during season transition) and looking at cheap domestic options. They're out there.
>>
>>9165427
Current season stuff aside (ofc it's full priced), there's some decently priced stuff in the Liz Lisa outlet http://www.tokyokawaiilife.jp/shop/outlet/item/list/stock_available/1/category_id/0/limit/30/sort/price_up
Also...I've had a $10 item on yahoo auctions ending up costing me $45 after all the fees etc so just be aware. $10 is not just $10.
>>
>>9165432
Sometimes 10 becomes 40, but ive also had like-new quality dia belts for 23 including shipping
>>
>>9165427
>>9165432
>>9165564
Oh wow, thanks for the info. I'll give it a go when I get paid. What auction websites do you use to buy stuff?
>>
>>9166115
I prefer mercari.jp as it is easy to use, or yahoo/mbok if i find something good
>>
>>9166124
Thanks, I checked them all out. So many cute clothes, I'm nervous about the language and currency barrier. Yahoo seems pretty easy to use actually, looks like the same format as western eBay.
>>
>>9165196
I mainly use mercari.JP an fril.JP
Since lots of the time the seller covers domestic shipping so I can work my costs out easier, also there's no bidding
Bidding does mean you can get some good shit for 100 yen though
>>
Which shopping service does everyone use?

I just looked at From Japan, and read a bunch of archived threads. It seems complicated since I'm a complete noob. Honestly I was considering just shipping to my relative who lives in Tokyo and asking him to ship it to me.

>>9165432
How did all of those fees happen? Was it the weight of the package?
>>
>>9166210
I suggest you to just go and try to use the site. It's really easy. Just fill the forms with information they need and pay. They also have a very good instructions.
>>
>>9166210
Yeah it's pretty easy, but if you need help, you can always ask here (or, on Facebook if it's quicker)

Is there any possibility to get braid in extensions like in Japan if you're in Europe (Germany) for a decent price? I don't like the clip in ones, maybe because I've never seen a person with my amount of hair on which you couldn't see them.
>>
>>9166434

All the best tips for makeup/coords ive seen were on cgl
>>
>>9166210
The weight of the intl package and then the domestic shipping came out to be more than 1000yen even though the seller has mentioned about 450yen being the shipping price in the listing.

This was a yahoo auctions listing and I use Buyee as my SS for that. Apparently buyee insisted they use a "more secure" method of shipping (w/tracking? This practice is pretty common for ss's) which made it cost twice as much. Idk why that's the case bc Ive had much bigger and heavier items shipped to buyee for 568yen or thereabouts. Anyway I'd say that's the seller not knowing the postal workarounds but at the same time, what the f do they even care if the buyer is paying it?

The item was 100yen. Domestic shipping came out to like 1090yen. Buyee fees were about 350yen. International shipping was around 900-1200yen (I consolidated w/other stuff but this is what I allocated to this item based on the total and size/weight of it).
>>
>>9166708
Buyee is a horrendous ripoff, try another service.
>>
does anyone here use synthetic extensions? I kind of want some for casual styles like dead straight hair
>>
>>9166720
I used to use fromJapan and buyee has actually been cheaper and faster and more convenient. I'm focusing less on buying secondhand crap for now anyway. If I'm going to end up paying that much, might as well get something new (on sale).
>>
>>9166124
>>9166183
If I used Mercari.JP would they need to ship to my tenso address?
>>
>>9166210
If you have a relative in Japan who would do that for you, you should go for it. Shopping services are great but you'd save money using a relative.
>>
When you're using a service, keep in mind there's also usually a fee for sending the payment to the seller. Both bank transfer and COD are around 300y, there's a fee for conbinipay too
>>
>>9163845

'Kuro' gyaru just means really dark skin. They are fashionable dressers who either frequent tanning beds, use extreme fake bronzers and self-tanners, or a combination of both.

You are thinking of B-gyaru which is not cultural appropriation but merely emphasizes beauty trends sourced from black subculture magazines featuring hip-hop and R&B. B-gyaru features a more natural tan then the extreme tans like those in Black Diamond have.

It just means tan. The fashion can happen without the tan. You won't be 'kuro'... meaning you won't have tan/dark skin.

I would never join a facebook group as it has my name attached. Why can't anons be active here as well?

Yes, the anonymity is nice but there is literally no way to improve yourself or to truly help others improve of you don't attach your name/face to what you say.

>People often use himekaji as an excuse for being too lazy to learn how to do gyaru makeup
Or because we PREFER natural style gyaru make-up? I sure as hell do. Stuff like extreme eyeliner and overly thick lashes are not my thing. I've done it in the past, but I look way better with himekaji style make-up if I say so myself.

If you do it right that's one thing. But most of them straight on use no makeup at all and maybe just apply mascara, don't do their hair and wear a pink op amd call it himekaji.
>>
I've always wanted to try gyaru and have at least one outfit
I'm so tall that normalfag dresses would hit my gyaru length too

but i dont know much of fashion, let alone gyaru
>>

But in that case they're not really himekaji to begin with. While we're at it, I'll admit I also have a pet peeve towards western himekaji wannabes that don't use blush, as I see that often too. Seems they forget gyaru is more than just the eye make-up.

You have to get on the makeup train first and there'll always be people here helping you to coord stuff

>makeup train
>have chronic shakey hands and can barely do my eye makeup as is

I'm fucked. have 20 sets of lower lashes though just in case I stop sucking at it one day.

I have shacking hands too and it just costs me double the time to do a proper makeup. Train your hands with drawing pictures and stuff like that.

Fucking newfag

Yeah, I only got started with the whole thing back in 2013, it took me a while to get into the hierarchy of gals, especially with the whole drama that sere and her squad were causing back then.

Weird, you can just log in with your lacemarket account.

Some people categorize any amount of tanning as blackface. You can't please everyone. The Scandinavians in the news promoting very deep tanning recently were accused of doing blackface by some news sites but no one really took notice or cared otherwise. Grow thicker skin and stop gaf.

one of my fave gaijin kurogals is yaya/jasmin, and shes not a poc, so I guess, as long as you don't make it look shitty, you are good to go. (and as long as you do not paint yourself black with greasepaint)
