The disaster is almost upon us!
Let's recap:
>con takes place in both US and Canada simultaneously
>website has egregious misinformation on whether you need passports or not
>a horde of weeaboos will no doubt be stranded in Canada
>con chair is allegedly a pedophile
They released their schedule, and 10 out of the 13 event areas are on the US side. Why did they bother????
I'm full of anticipation.
First day ended. Did anyone hear any funny stories? Is anyone there, period?
I'm here ama
>>9160420
I am here.. there's like 200 people on the U.S. at most...
>>9160599
Has anyone crossed the border yet?
>>9160653
some, and apparently you can cross without an id or anything assuming you have a badge. I forsee no issues with this whatsoever.
It peaked and now is dying already 11:25
>>9160665
The border just lets you cross because you have a convention pass? WHAT?
The biggest event today has been the goats and alpaca things outside..
They brought out chalk!
Check out the Halloween room. It's really scary!!!
The funny thing is, this is just your typical WNY convention. Lot of hype, lot of dramu, and at the end of the day maybe a few hundred people show up, mostly Homestucks.
I'm right here right now walking around.
This con is deader than dead.
You can just walk in, don't give them your money.
>>9160860
can confirm, been stuck at a booth by the entrance all day, they've only stopped like half the people wandering in...
game room is packing up
tons of people with no orange tips
This has got to be the best convention I've been to in a long time.
>>9160688
Oh look, you caught the chair himself in your photo lol.
>>9161312
Why?
Dashcon 2.0

>>9161519
Nah, if this was anywhere close to the infamy of Dashcon, it would've had a major disaster on the first day. Nothing's happening at all.
>>9161616
I gotta say, that's a colossal fuck up. A game room with literally no games?
>>9161698
At least Dashcon had one game console kek.
>>9161710
From the FW facebook page.
by starbucks us side
Saturday afternoon, Canadian dealer's room. Yay.
>>9162243
That's the American dealers room, do you not know what country you're in?
chalk art day two...
So what cosplay guests were there actually? Did anyone attend panels they did? Just curious about this since they originally had an okay lineup but it sounded like people were dropping out last minute.
>>9162492
>shut up and take my money!
They sure did, buddy.
>>9162577

>The event continues Sunday
>show up on Sunday
>the Canadian side has been closed down
The most entertaining thing on the canadian side all weekend was promstuck for the homestucks. Music was good, most of it not even from homestuck just somehow related? Went with a friend, the bar was the best part.
Clifton Hill is always a good time, but other than that Canada's side was lacking in events.
Pokestop in the tiny, disappointing artist alley though.
>>9162758
okay I'm pretty sure the 'fan' in the picture was a volunteer. Maybe she was a fan but that seems kind of staged considering how dead it was on the canadian side
Rikala said it's the best con of all time.
>>9162975
>>9163041
she's staff/guest.
>>9159093
I've been to a few cons in the area and this was probably my number 2 behind UBCon. It was much better than Ryu-kon/Tatsucon, EerieCon, RocCon, and Buffalo Comic Con
>>9163087
You need to go to more cons then. This was a con trying to ape Con Bravo and Unplugged and did such a fucking poor job. Go to CB instead.
>>9163106
I went to ConBravo and it was fantastic. I was just talking about US cons in the Buffalo/Rochester Area. I had more friends at this con than ConBravo since it's much more out of the way.
>>9163111
Fair fair.
>>9162975
Then it MUST be true!
>>9163162
Toracon in terms of activities and attendance should top the list, but it's going downhill. RIT HATES Toracon, they don't want the school to be known as "Home of Toracon", the con always occurs during tour events, etc. so they've been capping attendance and spreading everything across campus. Doesn't help that RIT also hosts a mini con in the winter by their cosplay trope, and many other cosplay events, so honestly it's only a matter of time before they end up just doing something sneaky to try to shut it down completely.
Here's a video I recorded at Fan World on Saturday at around 3PM. This is the US side of the convention showing all the panel rooms. It's pretty much deserted.
Anyone saying that this con was amazing needs to go to other conventions or stop lying.

We know who she is. Her opinion is still wrong.
>>9163188
I lI've near there and have never been to toracon. I always find a reason not to go especially with it happening around the same time as UBCon and PAX East
>>9161616
An anon said earlier the game room was packing up so he probsbly missed out
>>9162758
Poor kircher

He comments that the REASON the gaming room was empty was because the company packed up due to low traffic.
>>9163977
I think it's because nobody knew where the gaming room was since it was at a hotel a block away from the convention center. It would have been better off in the vendors room in the empty space
Haha. You guys never stop! What does this gain you? It's over.
>>9164232
Well, it give some people who might be interested in starting a con of their own some "Do's and Don'ts" for starters. It also helps anyone who staffs at a con some insight on what would make things run smoother.
For those of us in town or within driving distance of this con who were curious about the con but wanted to see how year 1 went and whether we should look into going next year, we are getting feedback.
It also gives the common seagull variety the lulz they crave.
It's not all about beating dead horses, you know.
>>9164232
Because some of us want to know the aftermath to see if it's worth going next year. Though not that this really needs to exist, the convention is already getting a fair share of TL;DR this con was bad between the event page and reviews on their page. Not surprised this con turned out terrible because they were hardly prepared until maybe 3 months ago? This con should have never happened this year, should have waited until next year.
>>9164232
>It's over.
For good? Hallelujah
>>9164232
Hey Corey, who's paying that overhead? Delivering pizzas won't make enough.
I was invited by a friend to go to this in order to see some Canadian pals of ours, but i spent a lot of money on my trip to Otakon because it was the last year in Baltimore so i couldn't go anyway.
Turns out our Canadian friends didn't go and the whole thing was not thought out. Dodged a bullet on this one
On the positive side, instead of people getting detained or having issues crossing the border, which is a shitty time indeed, it just sounds like people didn't really go or didn't cross the border much. So that piece went smoothly.
>>9168488
No dude in their right mind would be dressing like a little girl and trying to run a convention so he can get access to "hawt wimmen weebs"
>>9169001
Says someone who frequents 4chan
