Continued from previous thread -- its considered weird and mentally ill for someone to just take selfies all the time.
I remember asking about if this was weird like a year ago and everyone said it was fine and that most people do it. It's interesting to see that it's not actually acceptable in Japan. It seems to only be popular with the youth in America and other western places. But I have a feeling if my coworkers found out I had 300+ pictures of myself saved they'd be like wtf is wrong with you.

is it really a mental illness? What if you wore a shirt like this covered in your own selfies?

I'm taking way more than three still... but not every day. I've never taken selfies every day. About 1-3 times a week I will take on average 37-93, not including deleted shots and this was all data gathered from my phone just now.

That leaves gaping holes in the thread for someone to come in here and just troll away and it's easy for them to derail because we have no content to combat the trolling with.

Proportion, my dear... I'm not the anon who originally commented on the state of your shoulders. But.. proportion is about the idea that if you are self-conscious about a body part, draw attention away from it and seek proportion by accentuating you good aspects.

In this case, you are drawing attention to your shoulders with the frilly collar thing. (Please forgive me, I don't know what exactly they are called.) By wearing it, the eye is drawn to the broadness of the shoulders as it catches the eye. Remove it, and the eye will be drawn elsewhere... say the print of the shirt for example. The choker, frilly collar, shoulder-skimming hair and ribbon all bring attention to the shoulder area.

You should instead seek outfits without detailing around the shoulder and stick to minimalism in that area. You can also focus on the hips and other areas of the body. For example, say you are wearing a frilly collar because you love it and... fuck man shoulder, I'm wearing it anyways... then it might be best to not wear the collar and ribbon and accessorized the wrists and head instead. You could also add more volume to your skirt that way, the hip area provides balance to the shoulder area.

If you do chose an item to adorn the shoulders, it may be best to lay off other accessories as to keep the eye from being drawn to that area.

(And since we are point out our bodily flaws. I may have an hourglass... but I also seem to collect fat no matter how much weight I lose or working out I do around my upper arms. I cannot wear tank tops or cap sleeves without it drawing attention to that fact. So... I instead go for shoulder bearing long or 3/4th sleeve tops or tshirts with a longer sleeve length. I also have extremely boxy hips. I never wear skinny jeans because it looks like a pencil with a box on top.)

Anyway, yes the coord can be improved on but is it has bad has your making out to be? No. I never said it was an amazing coord. It's just that we need to side on caution when trying to apply the rules we have for lolita coords on to something in its infancy. I believe menhera does not have an exact look that can be easily explained. Early lolita had a lot of mismatching going on with it too. Was the outfit cohesive? Not really. Not to be mean or anything, but to give actual concrit: this outfit totally lacks the overall aesthetic of menhera. The lopsided hair doesn't really fit menhera at all, keeping it open or in twintails would have been much better. Also I can't see if you have bangs or not, but I think straight bangs are pretty much a must for menhera. The skirt is pretty awful too and it I don't think it can be saved in anyway. I personally think the outfit would look much more like menhera if the t-shirt was oversized and hanging over a skirt, not that skirt, but for example a baby blue pleated skirt. Ditch that disgusting skirt, and replace it with a blue pleated skirt or maybe some bloomer shorts. Your shirt might work tucked into a pleated skirt, but generally it's going to look better untucked, and honestly you probably want it a size bigger for it to look good. You need to change those shoes for something else, really anything would be better. Look at some menhera outfits, really study the common and unique aspects that work in them, decide what you like in them and try that for yourself. As for your hair, try tying it in pigtails with some ribbon, and a few hair clips, the decora thing might work but you have to learn how to do both styles well first before combining them.

Get a pair of sax teaparties or something, maybe a pleated skirt or light blue petti. Your legs look nice enough that you could pull off a shorter skirt which I think would really make this cuter.
