No it does happen but they usually are literally separated at birth...
>>9152050
Not that I know of. Fraternal twins develop from separately fertilised egg cells and each have their own amniotic sac. Conjoined twins happen when an embryo from a single fertilised egg splits later in development. Fraternal embryos can fuse very early on, but that results in a chimera, not a conjoined twin. If conjoined twins don't look identical in the face that is generally a result of deformity and not genetic, because their DNA is identical.

In love with the girl in green
I feel like a lot of this is how the fashion is supposed to be. Fun, personal. I genuinely wish that it could be more like that, not just on cgl but on fb too. I actually thing social media has dampened the chances of this though. It's not about the self but rather the viewer now.

>I actually thing social media has dampened the chances of this though.
other subcultures and alternative fashions have observed the same thing. even regular normies have noticed there is more pressure to conform due to social media.
i personally miss when the internet was mostly used by weirdos and even if the weirdos were mean or nitpicky, a certain level of weirdness was still expected.
i think the ubiquitousness of social media plays a large role in classic being the most popular substyle. gothic and sweet are just too weird. it's also why we have lolitas who only wear lolita for special events. when the end goal is to share a photo of your coord online, actually wearing the fashion out and about just isn't a priority.
>>9152408
This is honestly one of my favorite coords ever.
ouji is getting more and more popular. don't fall for the cookie-cutter butler, Ciel, or host club looks.
>>9152549
>>9152551
>>9152545
I think gothic is having a comeback now. Sweet had a backlash because of poorly executed OTT and gothic was misunderstood as ita half the time. There are still plenty of pieces for each style, so you can still wear what you want. I agree though that when the end goal is to take a coord pic, people don't wear it out as much.
>>9152552
also don't fall for the pirate, monochrome, or ageplay pastel shota shit. use colors, patterns, and textures! channel Nana Kitade! avoid imitating an idealized prince charming and get weird.

Specially this part:
>it's also why we have lolitas who only wear lolita for special events. when the end goal is to share a photo of your coord online, actually wearing the fashion out and about just isn't a priority.
Nowadays we all feel more pressure over posting any coord online. Unless you're famous or you look all ott and gorgeous, nobody really wants to post. We are all afraid of ending here. There's no room for experimentation, no room for making a mistake, because we all must be perfect and look flawless. I really like how ott coords look. But it's almost like everyone is trying to outdo each other. There's no real sense of fashion anymore. The point of lolita is going out wearing the clothes you want to wear and not care about what anybody else says, because it is something you like. And in that sense, it is less practical to be all ott all the time. Toned down coords work better for a busy day, or a rainy day, or just for daily wear. But casual lolita doesn't really matter. It is all about looking the best to a tea party, taking pictures and going home, wich I have nothing against, it's just very sad that lolita nowadays is mostly worn for teaparties.
Sharing a fashion you like with a friend who also dresses like you do used to be very fun. There was a sense of support. We are looked as weirdos by the more normal looking people. Now we all must compete to be the best looking. Only itas should be critcized harshly until they look like a real lolita. But we are all criticized. We are all afraid. We don't upload pictures. We don't raise our voice. We don't make other people get interested in our fashion. We destroy each other.
And that will kill the fashion.
>>9152893
You might be on to something, Anon...
>>9152913
Agreed, so much.
I'm not always very photogenic, so while I get pictures, I never really post them publicly or share them if I'm tagged in photos. Sometimes I wear toned simple down coordinates. Sometimes I go very OTT. Most of the time, I stay comfortably in the middle. In general, my coords are pretty boring and unimpressive when compared to others. I like the collecting aspect, but I'm doing it wrong by wearing matching accessories from time to time and I'm not creative enough. I like doing something creative and fun, or make all my accessories, but my nose is all wrong for the fashion and I look too much like a man because my eyes are too deeply set.
I'm not wearing this fashion to be under constant scrutiny. It's uncomfortable and it gets fucking weird. This is especially the case when girls want to know how someone could be shaped in one way or another so someone draws an outline of what they assume that person looks like under their dress. Not happened to me, but I've seen it happen often.
I don't share my coords often. I just enjoy feeling cute, wearing the fashion with friends or to events, and have a good time. Photo sharing doesn't have to be a part of the experience, but I wish it was more pleasant to do so.
I wish we would teach our newbies and armchair lolitas that it's okay to experiment and it's okay to miss the mark. This is how we learn and improve, and we can do this together if we'd stop being so anal about sticking to a strict set of imagined guidelines that changes yearly.
>>9152924
This
I'm not any near being photogenic unless I take my own photos myself. When I look at the mirror or while taking a selfie I have to reasure myself I don't look as bad. I really, really hate people taking photos of me or pressuring me to have my photos taken, specially wearing lolita. People don't care if you look like a psychopath or like you're about to sneeze (specially normies or weebs), and posing for me is very, very awkward. I get so fucking scared of someone fucking up my picture that I rather not have any taken. I don't want to risk it being posted anywhere. Even posting pictures to my personal facebook gets scary, as you don't know if someone might still post you. Plus I grew up with the mentality of not posting anything personal anywhere on the internet.
I just want to wear the fashion and not give a damn (and I do). People obsess over other's flaws so much.
>>9152924
>I don't share my coords often. I just enjoy feeling cute, wearing the fashion with friends or to events, and have a good time. Photo sharing doesn't have to be a part of the experience, but I wish it was more pleasant to do so.
I get this too. It's almost like you are not a real lolita unless you show everyone a picture. You don't exist even though you do wear it. Sharing should be made more enjoyable though. This is shouldn't be a contest.
>I'm not wearing this fashion to be under constant scrutiny. It's uncomfortable and it gets fucking weird. This is especially the case when girls want to know how someone could be shaped in one way or another so someone draws an outline of what they assume that person looks like under their dress.
This always creeped me out as well.
>I'm doing it wrong by wearing matching accessories from time to time and I'm not creative enough.
I really hate the mentality girls have over wearing matching accesories. They were made to match for a reason. There's nothing wrong with that. Then again if you try to be "creative" you get shunned down. As long as you don't look like crap, who cares really.
If people don't have the opportunity of buying a full set, at least they shouldn't be angry if someone else does and wears it. The creativity part is almost an excuse. I do love creative and well done coords though.
>In general, my coords are pretty boring and unimpressive when compared to others
Again, as long as people don't look ita, I don't get why people get angry with simple coords. They are fine.

Just like lolita means always looking like... whatever you personally think the term "lolita" is from?
Ouji is just the masculine version of lolita and it has just as much range. Brands that make specificially ouji items, like Deorart, use a number of non-regal looks and specifically label them "ouji". And the spread here >>9152585 is clearly marked as ouji style. Most of the individual snaps on that spread are specifically referred to as ouji in the text that accompanies them.
I don't get why some people get so literal about ouji kei when the community generally protests any literal reading of "lolita."

>>9157086
Sorry, I realized my wording was poor, and didn't accurately reflect my feelings, so I deleted it. Basically I just get annoyed when inexperienced ouji try to do something "weird" and "different" and end up looking like a mess. I'm all for new and creative coords, but ouji still needs to have some rules, or else any outfit with shorts and a vest could be "ouji." It's a lot harder to define than lolita though, at least for me. I do agree with you that most of those snaps are ouji. Anyway, sorry for seeming so literal, I just had a bad reaction when I first read it.
Sage for OT
>>9157444
I'm with you anon, and like the with term "ouji" I agree the outfits need to have a prince feeling, even if you get weird with it. Most of those snaps do because of headwear, pumpkin pants, etc but a few in this thread just look like punk outfits to me.
Contributing with "weird" tights as pants since I don't care if people think it's not acceptable, I like how they look and still think it works for ouji.
>>9157476
>a few in this thread just look like punk outfits to me.

I share pictures of casual (by today's standards) coords regularly and it goes largely unnoticed here, I have been reposted maybe twice. If more of us did it, we might be able to help popularize the idea of lolita as fashion instead of fancy costume
