Blouseless outfits can be done well imo. I'm strictly a sweet lolita, however I feel it rarely ever works in it. I think its easier to get away with in classic/gothic if you look like a classy lady.

I think the rule of thumb is if the bodice has a) wide sleeves, b) heavy details on the bodice, c) multiple straps on the bodice or d) long lace-trimmed straps you can get away with not wearing a blouse. Of course, that makes it easier for it to work in classic rather than sweet.

Wore this for a casual venue, I felt pretty awkward without a blouse but rather breezy in Texas' 100° summer.

It's the unbalance. The reason I hate most of blouseless coordinates is that the balance is thrown off if the blouse is removed. It looks so weird when you have tights but no blouse kinda like you wore a very thick long sleeved college with booty shorts. It's bottom heavy since you have quite plain and small hair do so there is very little going on in the upper part vs bottom. Also, huge pink block in the bottom. Ankle or crew sock would be better but if I'm honest I think this cut do not work blouseless in lolita. The straps are just too thin and collar low. Even if you get the balance right it will expose too much skin for my taste.

Things that I recommend everyone before making a blouseless coord:
>Please bathe, shave your armpit hair and wear deodorant. Take care of black spots on your armpits as well.
>Don't attempt blouseless coords unless you are already experienced with lolita and got the bases of coordination out. Don't be an ita.

>If you have thick arms, it's better if you use a garment over your shoulders or the "droopy sleeve" and "off shoulder look". It makes the arms look thinner.

Remember that blouseless doesn't equal ita all the time.
Climates are getting hotter and hotter, and there might be a time where even a chiffon blouse might not be enough. Just do it right.
