I don't wear OTT sweet, because I don't enjoy wearing it. I'm more of an old-school type and was never really into OTT.

However I always liked seeing pictures of OTT sweet. I think it's really cute and fun. It's one of those things that's so bubbly that it's hard not to like it.

I still wear it. It's something that I really save for bigger events or conventions though.

I think the next trend after old school might be a return to this kind of look, even if that's an unpopular opinion now.

Oh gosh, this was my favourite photo when I first got in to lolita. She looks so cosy and warm.
I wish I could wear sweet without feeling embarrassed for being so ott or worried that my clothes are gonna get dirty.

Same, it's making me super nostalgic for this era of lolita. The attitude of the style was so fun and light hearted. Contemporary classic is beautiful and everything, but it seems so much more affected and self important than the old sweet.

Not OP but I really dont like a lot of prints AP puts out now. I dont label it as classic but I miss about 2010 era sweet. Now all the prints are weirdly dusty looking and over cluttered for me.

I made a quick comparison to illustrate better what I'm talking about. Of course fashion trends are bound to change and it has been six years, but I still love the older sweet more.
There is the occasional Angelic pretty release that is more 2010 style, but they are definitely in the minority compared to the dusty style.

I think some of the recent stuff is really pretty and there are some releases that I really do like and have bought some. But it's rare that I find anything that's as bursting with fun colors. I enjoy coording with different colors and wear them multiple times in new ways.

Even if the details are more ornate, elegant and pretty it just doesn't have the same adorable thrill of older AP. There's so many things that look so washed out now.

2010 has a ton of my favorite prints anon, I feel you. I agree about coording them in new ways with different color schemes. I also feel its easier to interchange accessories when you have a cohesive wardrobe palette. (I only buy pink, sax, and lavender).

There have been a few recent-ish releases I like but the last 2 years has been really stale for me. There are so many times I love the idea of the print or the border print itself, but the execution kills it for me. Either with washed out prints or clutter.
An example of clutter is pic related. I love the artwork of the border print, but they went crazy with the print above it. There is way too many blotchy red parts taking away the focus of the border, and too much happening. I much prefer how Milky Berry and some other older berry prints really bring the focus to the border, and have something simpler up top in the fabric.

2009 - 2011 have my favorites, hands down. 2010 was a good year.

I'm wearing Jewel Marine in lavender right now, and it's one of the few prints lately that I really love. That and Diner Doll but this one was one sale, but I'll be obtaining that ASAP because it has that Milky Planet feeling to it.

My wardrobe is a literal rainbow, but more heavy in mint and lavender. I don't have any issues with matching because most things work with others as far as theme or color goes, or at worst, I'll make my own accessories if I can't find anything at the time. The worst is trying to find socks, IMO, because I don't like buying used socks.

Milky Berry is perfection. I agree with the clutter as well. I'd rather clutter up with accessories rather than wear a cluttered dress if I wanted to go that route. I also prefer border prints, but there have been some all-over prints that I really like, especially for more casual wear when I don't feel like standing out as much as I would had I decided to roll in my bow and chocomint accessory bin.

Melty sky is still pretty muted. The only version that looks pretty bright is the blue one, but in that case, the stars and everything else look very faded. Compare it to Dream Sky and you'll see a difference, especially with the pink colorways of both.

I feel the same. I loved the more simpler prints from the 2010 - 2012 era. The prints now are not only too cluttered but even boarder print itself is too detailed. If your're not really close to the print you often can't see what's on it.I wish they would go back to simpler, less cluttered stuff.

seconding this, never liked OTT too much on myself or in general because it's "too much" and i like old school better. But i do have some "OTT prints" from the era like dreamy dollhouse,jewelry jelly,that soft cream print from bodyline.. and i love them to bits even though i coord them in a "simple" way.

I have mixed feelings on her.
Her reaction when everyone was hating on her christmas/craft store coords was not very elegant. Her outfits in general are hit or miss for me. I do like her youtube videos a lot though.

OTT sweet will always have a big place in my heart. Since classic is in at the moment, it's my big chance to buy as many cheap pre-2010 AP dresses as I possible can.
