Same person here. When I went my first year, I had a regular 4 day badge and I still had fun. If you're somewhat sociable, lines can be fun. I don't buy premier for autographs or swag, I buy it so I can save time and enjoy more panels than I otherwise would.

When I first went in 2010 I was able to solo everything. AX hadn't gotten huge at that point. Big, yes, but not huge. I was able to hit all the autographs I wanted and attend the panels I wanted. Fast forward more than five years and the population has exploded and you pretty much need a team to do anything if you aren't premiere. It's pretty sad.

My first year was 2014, and that year was packed. A lot of people were pissed at how unorganized the con was, myself included, but it was still a very fun experience. There's pros and cons to having a lot of people, but I'll still have fun regardless so it doesn't matter to me really.

I just want to see if an English localization for Diamond is Unbreakable will be confirmed at the JoJo panel.

I have almost everything complete aside from Kuzco. Just need to make Iyami's pants, finish Philemon's mask, find a shirt for Alessi, make Sethan for Alessi (Which will probably be ezpz) and that's about it

Premier badges probably outnumber VIP seats by a lot and it makes sense that if you can throw down $375 on a badge you can throw down another $130 for VIP. Plus premiere can buy multiple tickets so if their non premier friends want VIP they can hook them up.

Not really to the point of usefulness. I'm extremely directionally challenged. I can point things out on a map and direct other people, but I will personally walk off in the opposite direction on a map while earnestly believing I'm going right way. I've gotten lost from simply walking into a room then walking back out with no idea where I came from or how to get out of the building. I got to classes late even when I left early during college. I visit Chinatown on the regular.

You can uber or take the gold line on spring street to union station and from there either the blue or expo to pico station...I think the week pass is like 25 bucks? And the gold line runs through little Tokyo to the south after union station and east towards Boyle Heights (I your craving the best burritos in the city) And north into Pasadena(which I recommend you stopping by old town Pasadena) You should have no trouble catching a train in say, 15 minutes apart from each other. Getting off on Union Station and onto the blue line and to the actual convention center will be like 30 minutes at most.

Chinatown is neato. Fairly safe during the day aside from some sketchy back alleys. Broadway running down is full of indoor swap meets and cool hole in the wall restaurants and bakeries and old Chinatown is a good spot for pictures.

Its a nice clean place, the rooms are nice, the wifi is good, but the complimentary breakfeast is ass. Also the cleaning ladies will not take no for an answer and will clean your room whether you want it or not.

There's a nice little cafe near the entrance run by a nice old lady, lotta good drinks for cheap like $1.50 for a large boba tea or cooler or smoothie.

About two blocks away at ABC seafood you can get some serious budget chinese food $3.00 for two sides and rice and chow mein and I think a soft drink. Near the shopping center about a block away theirs this weird little hipster place that sells stuff like deep fried mars bars, ramen burgers, etc.

Boyle Heights has a good mix of most fast food places and Mexican food, and Lil Tokyo has a good amount of ramen places.

Anything around Staples Center is gonna be pricey i'm talking $10-$12 per person eating for pretty basic food.

If you decide to use UBER or take the Subway I recommend Taurinos Tacos near Mc Arthur Park their burritos are fucking amazing and priced alright at $6 and $2 for a large Horchata

For anons worrying about Pershing Square, it's "walking" distance. I'd recommend dropping everyone and the luggage off at the hotel, then going off to park the car. Leaving, same procedure, get the car first and pick up everyone and the bags. It's a long walk.
