Just finished my entire fandom fashion outfit and then one of my Rin rubber badges fell off right after I took the picture. I had to use E6000 glue to stick it back on the rosette where the hot glue had failed. I'm hoping that'll do the trick or I'm out of ideas.

Usually it's Surface the cheapest, then SAL. EMS and AirMail depends- for lighter items, Airmail is cheaper, for heavier, EMS tends to be cheaper.

I haven't done surface in ages, so I can't say, but while SAL is usually the cheapest option in terms of price vs. time, if you're trying to get something sent to you during a busy season (around december/january for instance), it may take much longer as it only gets put on a plane if there's space. SAL has taken 2 weeks at the fastest to get to me on the west coast of the US, but it's also taken over a month before.

It really depends on what you're ordering. I've had instances where DHL of all shipping methods was cheaper than both EMS and SAL. Sometimes EMS is cheaper than SAL. Most often however SAL does turn out to be the cheapest. I'm too impatient for it though haha. If you're going with SAL though I'd recommend making sure it's Registered SAL as that comes with insurance which Unregistered SAL doesn't.

In my local card shop we have matte sleeves and all that are the perfect size for YGO cards in various colors. It would look better to have snug sleeves without having so much space and have color on just the back to make it look more even. I can post pictures of how the sleeves look in case you want to know how they look so you can get the idea of how they look.

I really want to make a Kyoko / Chinatsu (or all out Yuru Yuri) ita bag since it's one of my absolute favorite series.

However, Kyoukos designated color is the green on the picture. I really want a WEGO heart backpack but it only comes in mint or a very blueish green.
Would you say go for the green anyway or for white?

Idolm@ster SideM is getting Super Groupie bags but they're pretty meh. Even as a big fan of S.E.M the bag is kind of dull, wouldn't go with anything I wear and not big enough to replace my base bag.

what's the best way to deal with those pesky ball chains? some of the rubber straps that I have sit really awkwardly with just a safety pin in place of the chain, but letting them dangle on the length of the chain throws off the layout and isn't the securest. I tried to wind the chain a bit around the pin to shorten it, but it looks ugly and it's hard to keep the strap facing out when I do that.

Have any of you guys canceled preorders from amiami? I'd preordered some stuff a while back for an itabag that I don't really want to make anymore, and I was hoping to cancel the preorder and save some money. I know their faq says you can't cancel preorders, but one of my friends said you can email them and cancel, they just don't like people doing it often. Any personal experiences?

Has AmiAmi quoted anyone else ridiculous shipping prices? They just quoted me 3000 yen to ship 2 keychains via SAL to the US. That's as much as Buyee charged me to ship 2 skirts via EMS. I know this sounds cheap but also 3000 is a lot for a tiny, lightweight SAL package.

My Princess of the crystal nendoroid came with three little penguin figures that I wanna attach to my future Penguindrum itabag, they dont have any straps attached to them or any longer limbs etc. that you could sew on... Theyre made of resin (I guess?) Pic shows them.
Any ideas? I don't really wanna put them into a small, clear bag, clear bags look cheap... Can I drill a hole into their heads for attaching a chain?

If you don't want to damage your figures (in case you want to sell them on later, or use them for photography or whatever), you could take a look at DIY acrylic clutches and make a little box for them. Then either put the box at the bottom of your itabag (or glue the box to the bottom of the itabag), or you can attach a chain to the acrylic box to hang it from somewhere.

The penguins were originally delivered in a shipping box to the siblings, so if you add postmarks and mini shipping labels to the box, it's actually a nice throwback to how the siblings received them. For adding postmarks, you can try searching for clear stamps stickers, draw directly on the acrylic with sharpies, or print stuff out on clear OHP transparencies and then stick that into the box.

Just be sure to take security into account if you want to hang them outside your bag, choose a box you can close securely or something.

There's a ton of Enstars merch at second hand shops in Japan. It's ridiculously popular. I picked up everything from one of those shops.(except the plush, I won him in a crane game) Koga's merch is on the more expensive side so I didn't buy as much as other boys.

Animate has/had a pop up shop for Enstars with a lot of merch there too. It feels like they are coming out with new blind boxes/lotteries for enstars every other week.

My polish I have is yellow/greenish (I can't seem to find any clear one around me) but I did not expect it to stain the plastic, it's super weird. Has anyone had this happen? Maybe pure acetone would help? They sell it at Beauty supply stores like Sallies. Buying a whole bottle might be too much though but I think there should be nail polish remover pads or wipes that might be cheaper for testing?

Although I picked up my bag just now and realized it's not nearly as big as I need it to be to accomodate the merch I got (I've received a bunch of stuff today and severely underestimated how huge most pieces are, pic related is all I have for my bag now and I'm still missing a few more). Maybe replacing the plastic will have to be the way to go in this case, I can make the plastic panels longer and at least get some use of it.
Either way, I'll keep in mind your advice for any future situation, thank you once again.

Finished my third Todomatsu itabag yesterday. I got the base bag at Animate while I was in Tokyo and although I do like the final look, assembling on this bag with the clear cover restricting everything took an insane amount of time and way too much accidental finger pricking. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a lot of patience.

Also, I'll be at Fanime! Will do my best to make it to the meetup.

Oh man I feel the complete opposite, they're definitely useful! I've been wishing my fandoms had pass cases ever since I saw a friend's Love Live one. If you take any sort of public transit that uses tap based cards they're wonderful. I always have to fish my card out of my wallet but in a pass case you can carry it on your bag and use it right in the case.

I don't think they care about you making Itabags but the big companies usually only care if you use sell stuff with official art, your style is way too close to the original or are making a ton of money or advertising on their brand's reddit. Check Etsy with keywords close ot what you want to make and check other Blizzard franchises too. Riot Games doesn't care but Valve scours constantly so you'll notice anything Portal related on Etsy is marked as "Portal Inspired." Putting "inspired" in your title seems to help

Blizzard has done at least one c&d for overwatch stuff so far but iirc it was because they were using official symbols/spray art lol... I think you will be okay as long as it is your own art and you are selling small quantities. I'm expecting Overwatch to become pretty popular at AAs (i'm definitely doing buttons and maybe a small charm order later in the year myself, haha)

If you use a little bit of tape on the back of a sticker you can stick it to your phone then put a clear phone cover over that to make sure the stickers stay in place without any tape being noticeable and if you want to change the design, the sticker isn't stuck to your phone forever.

You can also get bootleg mini figures on AliExpress or Taobao and glue them to the outside of the phone cover.

I'm planning a bag for a character but then I got this "why not add a little of the character I ship it with" but actually.. it's an ot3.

What size is the can mirror? Coade has some can badge covers with a strap hole (ストラップ穴付き缶バッジカバー) which is what I used to attach a can magnet to one of my bags.

I plan to put a few rosettes on the front and was going to try slipping it into the hook and securing it with either tape or blu-tac. I use 3m products for all my posters and frames and it hasn't damaged my wall or paper, it holds pretty strongly too.

To attach the plush, you could probably sew a loop made of fabric or some kind of string to the back of his head, then use a safety pin to attach it to the bag? That won't work if you're trying to avoid punching holes in the bag but if you don't care about that, it could work.

Newbie buyer here so I have some retarded questions, but on suruga-ya, do they ship everything in one box? I'm going to be using big in japan forwarding I think because tenso is more expensive but if suruga-ya tends to ship in separate boxes, I don't want to get screwed over by the 500 yen fee a bunch of times.
Also, for prices, do I just pay attention to the price and red and ignore the second price or not? Their FAQ wasn't very helpful on this. I'm assuming the black text price is either the recommended price and red is their current buy it now price but I just want to make sure.

I agree with you here. I've been collecting merch for one of my favorite characters for years and don't have enough for a full bag, mixture or official charms and AA gifts, and because it's not as popular it's harder to get things because people make less, so I have to gamble with yahoo auctions and I've lost the past four. I got a wego bag for a newer fandom just to make a silly cute bag and it's been far more successful and faster to fill. On the outside I just clip the key chains all over it and let them dangle down the sides. It gives me at least something even though it's small, and it's not obnoxious so that's enough for me.

The fan merch is from mostly conventions & storenvy, with a little bit of stalking the tumblr tags for charm preorder posts. I can hunt down specific links if you're interested.

The square one is a blind box charm (official merch), and I stalked Ebay for two months before I saw one pop up. Last month you could still buy unopened boxes through Japanese sites for the complete set online if you wanted to import, but I just checked and I'm not seeing any sellers for the Conquest set anymore.

Honestly, if I could locate more official merch I would buy it. There are only four pieces of official merch in circulation: Two trading cards, a blind box strap, and a button sold as part of a three piece set. And this is for a side character in a game with literally 70 characters - so there wasn't a large quantity printed, either. I've barely been able to track down what I have, let alone locate multiples of any of it.

If I didn't love fan merch it would be impossible to make a bag. As is, I've been insistent on get in orders for fan merch now before the game wanes in popularity and I can't find anything at all.

Same, anon. Don't listen to them, they're probably a basic bitch with a popular husbando/waifu. For a lot of us, fanmerch is the only option. My waifu only has a handful of official merch (70% of figures, of which she only has 5) and the rest is impossible to find (or extremely, extremely expensive, collector level), so I've been making my own and commissioning others. Sorry we didn't make a matsu bag or something.

elitism for itabagging is so silly like... I understand having envy and idolizing really impressive bags, but it's dumb to be like 'you aren't worthy of having an itabag because you don't do x or y'. They're just bags with character-related shit on them.
