Didn't see one in the catalog, so mori-kei thread? Natural-kei is fine too, unless someone wants to convince me that they're actually two completely different styles.
Feel free to dump whatever you have, but if anyone has examples of coordinates that successfully incorporate pink (or any other springtime color, for that matter), I'd love to see them! Also interested in mori headwear.
Have at it.

>unless someone wants to convince me that they're actually two completely different styles
I mean, they are. Choco was clear when she made the mori girl mixi group that she considered it to be different from natural-kei. But if you mean convince you that they deserve separate threads, I don't really mind having both in the same one either, since they don't tend to survive well on their own.
>>8895963
Natural kei is a bit different, but not so much it needs a separate thread imo. I've seen people refer to it as adult mori in Japan.
Also, most of the "mori" brands that Choco used as a base to create the style were natural system brands. Most of which are still around even with mori being kinda dead now.
A good place for natural kei/Mori information, brands, and even anime characters/Japanese actresses that fit that style type. (Japanese language).

Will dump more natural stuff a bit later.

Obviously the style would have its roots in natural-kei since it came first and inspired mori's aesthetic/ideology, but the intended difference is worth noting, IMO. Some people think they're completely synonymous and I couldn't tell whether or not OP was implying that, so I thought I'd try to clarify.

OP here. I meant if someone can convince me that there isn't a lot of crossover between the two. I get that there are some fundamental conceptual differences, but in practice, I've always see a lot more in common between mori and natural. But maybe that's just my eyes, which is why I said "convince me".
Dumping some natural kei
Gonna drop some pink/spring color mori

Did you mean Mori kei?

All images in the natural kei dump are from Natural kei (system/style) magazines.
ナチュラル系 (Nachuraru Kei)

Natural style is shown in this clip, and it's clear the ladies had no idea what Mori girl was.
They are basically wearing natural kei.
This shows how easily the styles got crossed.

Also similarly to mori, there's a lifestyle centered around Natural kei that is all about being eco friendly, using organic foods/cosmetics and sweatshop free clothing with natural materials.

This is kind of embarrassing but: I get really overwhelmed using shops that have 3000+ items(basically all aliexpress). Are their any small stores you guys can recommend? I don't mind if the prices are high
My question kind of aligns to anon>>8901825
but a little more specific. I am looking for Taobao stores that have a more pink house aesthetic. Thinkfly had a dress and Yolanda did too. I bought the ciciworks/sweet dreamer dress that is similar to and sometimes mistaken as pink house, but they haven't released a dress in a similar style since then.
I just don't want to pay 400-700 dollars for a dress.

There aren't too many small mori shops on Ali, but I can list stores that actually categorize their inventory.
This makes navigating so much easier.
With some shops the most you'll get is a link called "womens clothes", and you have to filter through thousands of items from there.

This is more of a jumper skirt but I'm going to count it

Thanks! I don't see it around much so these are helpful
Please feel free to rip me to shreds
Would buying a piece of clothing labeled mori for its generous sizing a j-fash feel without layering or calling it mori at all be okay for a plus sized girl? So many cute printed shirts I could wear daily, so unsure as to whether they would look halfway decent even with 100cm bust measurements.
>>8902956
I don't see why you couldn't, just don't post it and label it "mori" or anything. I'm thinking of doing the same thing myself. I'm not good enough at putting together outfits to pull off mori without looking like a homeless person, but some of the dresses are fucking adorable and I need them.
>>8902974
I am concerned about the shoulder measurements, but I figure if I use it for normie I can undo the top few buttons on some shirts or get scoop collared tops. Otome stuff generally doesn't jump out to me, but mori does.
Are mori sleeves forgiving on upper arms? I have really slender lower arms in comparison but the mori items i'm looking at on ae are $30-40 I plan on digging deeper but I'm getting the feeling that it's one of the more expensive substyles.
polite sage.
>>8902980
Honestly, the fit will vary, and reading the measurements carefully is the only way to know if the clothes will work for you.
Knowing all your measurements in CM is a must!
Personally I won't purchase a top if the shoulder width is less than 39cm (my shoulders are 43cm) .
If the shoulder is a bit smaller than your natural shoulder line, your sleeves will simply be shorter, unless however the armholes are tiny
(then the fit gets pretty uncomfy).
So look for a combination of larger shoulder width and upper arm circumference. Measure against your most comfortable top or blouse.
Also, more professional natural/mori shops will give a complete measurement breakdown (like the photo), but Aliexpress sellers rarely give all of this information, so you'll have to ask.
>>8901831
Then buy on second hand auctions? There is so much and you can get ph dresses under 100 easy. Taobao is way more expensive in that sense.
To be honest, I can't stand wearing cardigans. I have seen plenty of adorable ones, I even own a super cute white crochet cardigan. But I HATE wearing them. I don't know what it is, but they are so uncomfortable. They are a staple item in every J-fash I like, and I feel like my outfits are incomplete because I can't wear them. I know jackets are sometimes used on mori/natural kei, but I feel like you loose a lot of that old-fashioned and whimsical feeling.
I guess this is mostly just me venting, because of course I'm gonna wear what makes me comfortable, but I feel sad every time I see pictures of super cute cardigans. They don't make hoodies and jackets cute like they do cardigans.
>>8903207
I guess I am just too picky. I found two pink house dresses a month ago that were around $100 but I want to someday buy their more complicated dresses.
