The promo I saw was insanely disappointing but expected from Cartoon Network nowadays. They didn't even contact the original cast and Bubbles' pigtails can fuck right off.

The remodels were really bad, Buttercup's VA is incredibly disappointing, and the character art is horrendous. It's like they tried to use the old style with the girls, and they're using some horrible abomination between Clarence and Regular Show art for everyone else. The people of Townsville look so fucking bad in that clip, and the villain is pretty shit, too.

Plus, I don't like the whole "DON'T CALL ME <petname>" thing. It makes me feel like they're going to write Buttercup as some "I HATE GIRLY THINGS" shit, which she never was in the original show. They actually made a point of never making her that type of character.

Regardless, I might think of doing a cute cosplay group with my sister. We always loved the series, so it'll be a nice bonding experience.

I just looked at the CN Twitter to see if there was anything new and saw the theme. It kind of hurts to watch and listen to it. More cosplays will hopefully come out though which is nice. I'd like to see some characters or outfits which aren't done a lot.
I see what you mean about the people of Townsville. I found the lead character designer and their art looks like a distorted mess of Tumblr and what CN already offers.

Confirming for talking about the re-boot, not the cosplay.

People were noting the inconsistency of background characters (sizing/ratio and styling)
and even 4chan/co/ agreed with tumblr at how overdone the whole girls vs guys theme was. Others complained about the voice over acting. Apparently, McCracken isn't working on this show and it's a whole new team rebooting the series.

Pilots are usually wonky. I'll give it a chance, but I seriously doubt it's going to be as good as the original and I'm not even wearing nostalgia lenses today.
