Everyone claims SU is the new Homestuck because of the possibility of bad bodypaint, but I've never heard a horror story of SU cosplayers wiping unsealed paint on people or committing anywhere near the atrocities the Homestuck fans have. There are many ways to style his hair depending on your headcanon or preference (see the pic for a few examples). Of course if the wig fits into your headcanon straight out of the bag then there's no need to style it. It's completely up to you.

Got this fabric for MTT boot covers today. I didnt really want to have to use glittery fabric but haven't been able to find anything else passable. Should have started looking sooner haha. I think I will probably replace the boot covers later if I can find better fabric but I guess for now it is alright.

Just my opinion but I think that fabric is perfect for Mettaton. It's tacky and glamorous but not too over the top or flashy. Unless it looks a lot flashier in person, I'd say it's a pretty good choice.

I like it anon! The glitter isn't too in-your-face, and it looks like it photographs well. But just in case you do want different fabric in the future, spandexhouse has some great stretch vinyl

The pink highlights are something I've seen a lot of Asian artists do. Not sure why, nor why Western cosplayers add them into the design when we have better access to the canon material than the Asians..
He's probably not the most non-canonly cosplayed character out there, Undertale sprites are just ambiguous or inconsistent sometimes.
