More general room inspiration is always needed, not only bedrooms

So my father very kindly painted my bedroom for me when I wasn't able to, but he painted directly over the wallpaper, and now it's bubbling and peeling in places. Anyone have any suggestions for large wall decor I could cover it with? Luckily it's just one wall, I covered part of it with a wall scroll.

Not mine, but I'm very jelly of how neat and organized the collection is.

I wish more people framed their posters like this instead of just taking them on the wall. It makes them look so much more tidy, organized, and appreciated. Not to mention protects them better.

Took this pic for the /toy/ desk thread. We're renting with my in laws. My FIL let's me use the office for my sewing as long as I keep the place tidy and organized. I'm hoping we'll be moved out in a reasonable time frame.
>>
Thank you for this thread. I just moved into an apartment and needed inspiration

Anyone have any pictures of their sewing area by any chance? I'm trying to fix that part up.

I'm a cosplay photog, occasional cosplayer, and huge otaku, does mine count?

I do my sewing on my dining room table and have to set it up whenever I want to use it, so no pics handy of that. I'll take one next time I'm working there.

Frames are super cheap and protect the edges from getting ruined.

Pic related, would hate if it got torn or damaged so I bought the frame for it.

We step over things and things are always a we left them. I like being able to pick something I need up off the floor or on my bed at arms length from my computer in case I need it. I'm a neat freak everywhere except my own room. I don't really know how else to explain it anon.

Pic of my actual room from a few years ago. I'm almost to the point where I need to take pics again.
>>
>>8844534
Nice posters and display. Fucking pathetic computer and TV though.
>>
>>8844539
TV and computer have been replaced thank god. Same with the chair.

I also own ~40 poster frames of all shapes and sizes with probably 4-9 posters stacked per frame.
>>
Sorry for sob story- I'm living at some kind of commune for abused/homeless youth for years now, and I recently got the bad news that its bankrupt. I just got the news yesterday that there is a small studio for me but I need to start renting it this March. I'm excited to finaly get my own place and make it cute and stuff, but I'm totaly unprepared and I don't have any furniture of my own and I'm on a thight budget, so I can't buy cute new furniture.

Does anyone have some tutorials/ideas to make secondhand furniture look cute for cheap? Or any sort of cute low budget home deco? I do have a lot of plushies, figurines and weeb merch to weebify my new place.

Decorating is the only fun part of all this mess.
>>
>>8844510
Yeah. In a pinch, Wal-Mart sells a 2 pack of 18 x 24 poster frames for $18. They're nothing amazing but better then nothing at all.
>>
>>8844501
kek, god forbid somebody on an anime imageboard, posting on a section dedicated to dressing up as anime and video game characters, actually likes anime and video games, right?

I've been an active member of /cgl/'s community literally since the day the board was created and have been cosplaying since 2001. I'm afraid to say this IS the board I came from.
>>
>>8844555
>mfw Michael's frames were superior with the particleboard but now use cheap cardboard and the Walmart frames are now superior

Feels incredibly bad man.
>>
>>8844564
On the plus sice. You can buy a 4 ft x 8 ft particle board panel at home depot for $10. It's 3/8th of an inch thigh though. They sell a 5/8th inch thick one of the same dimensions for $20.

You could possibly cut those down to back your frames instead of crappy cardboard.
>>
>>8844475
You're disgusting.
>>
>>8844475
>looks like my old bedroom

Anon. I recommend going through unfuckyourhabitat on tumblr and marathoning lots of clean house.

Get yourself some totes. Label them specifically what you're using them for. Start organizing your shit. You're gonna realize how much extra you have of certain things. Designate a home for stuff, label what it is. Got a shoebox just for bias tape? Label that box and have it on a bookcase with your other crafting supplies.

I've got a ton of scossors, but at least I know where they are and they have a home.
>>
>>8844551
Lots of ideas on pinterest if you are able to sand and paint old furniture. Stuff like recovering chairs or redoing bookshelves with bright/cute colours can make a room really nice

e.g.

>>
>>8844575
Honestly, I'd LOVE to make my own frames. I have so many prints and posters that just sit rolled up in storage because of their either massive or awkward sizes. I've looked into it before, but I can't find any nice and simple plastic framing that I can buy it just bulk.
>>
>>8844646
See if you can find some car window edging or similar trim. You can buy it in rolls, and then just cut thin particle board and clear plastic to size and "sandwich" it with the trim.

I've done a bunch of custom frames, but always aluminum ones, and that gets expensive fast if you want to do a bunch of big posters.
>>
>>8844646
You haven't had any luck on eBay or Amazon.

Have you tried hitting up some yard sales? You sometimes get people selling off old paintings and posters. You could negotiate a cheap price. Maybe not a bulk thing, but you might score some nice frames.
>>
>>8844652
That's a neat idea. But how do you go about attaching the hardware to hang them?
>>
>>8844475
Honestly if you've tried the buying lots of boxes for your stuff approach and it didn't work, try KonMari. It doesn't seem like you're hoarding valuable things you love here.
>>
>>8844664
I like the 3M Command velcro strips that they sell specifically for picture hanging. They're really secure and you don't have to worry about attaching hardware or putting holes in your walls.
>>
>>8844652
Huh, that's a good one anon. Never thought of that before. Thanks!

>>8844656
Not much luck there for DIY custom framing. Have found a few gem exact-dimension frames before though.
>>
>>8844551
Free furniture on craigslist and maybe $30 of paint supplies will do wonders. Contact paper is also fun, but not usually great on the tops of desks or tables that get a lot of use. For decorating shelves and stuff though, highly recommend.
>>
>>8844370
That drives me insane when it's not
>>
>>8844551
If you live near a university, see if they have a facebook sales page or "craigslist" page. I get furniture and decor for dirt cheap at the end of the semester when all the students are moving out and can't take their stuff, sometimes even for free too. Check out garage sales and thrift stores as well, some thrift stores have 50% days and such. I have a low budget too and I've found some really cute decor items even at Dollar Tree. Look on pinterest for ideas as well, they have a lot of low budget ideas. If you have a plain couch or chair, put some pillows or a throw blanket on it to make it look more cozy. I like to get fake flowers from the dollar store and put them into cheap vases to brighten up the room. A string of white Christmas lights around the window may seem a little cliche, but I've always thought that was a cheap solution for an extra cozy glow. Anyway, take it slow and good luck!

Then provide some. Stupid twat.

>>8844551
Good luck with your new place! As others have mentioned, paint is probably the easiest way to spruce up a piece. Another option is to change out the hardware (drawer pulls & handles). Just take the old stuff with you to the hardware store to check the spacing/size. If you can't afford prints or posters, you can get Staples, or other office supply places to print pretty nice ones for like $1.50 for 11"x17" if you bring in digital files. Some might be iffy about copyright, but generally don't care about obscure stuff. I used to do this for anime that didn't really have any merch over here. If you have a Re-Store in your city they can be a good source for materials and appliances. If you're bringing in any soft items, just be careful about bed bugs. The biggest thing with decorating on a budget is patience. Sometimes you have to live with something ugly and functional until the right thing comes along for the right price.

As much as the site is filled with yuppies, I like Apartment Therapy. They have some good advice for thrifting and giving face lifts to old stuff. Hope you like your new home anon!
>>
>>8844265

I'm getting another room here in a few months (my sister is finally getting her own place, I'm at my parents while doing college) and a giant chunk of my things are going in there for a 'game room'.
My room is just gonna be my weeb and lolita shit, mostly pink and white. Do you guys think it'll be fine if most of the posters/plushes/bed etc are pink/white and the walls are a light green? Or should I just bite the bullet and paint them pink to match? The floor is that light brown fake wood. Carpets are a no-go because 2 XL dogs.
>>
>>8845276
I think light green is ok as long as it's more pastel mint green rather than gross light lime green

I have a suffocating amount of clothes that I absolutely never wear, but because I'm a weird hoarder I can never make myself donate them. Do you have any suggestions? It's getting to a point where they are completely consuming my room.

Furthermore, does anyone have suggestions for working with extremely small rooms? Thanks!

Separate your clothes into categories:
>Every day, casual wear
Pick out 2 pairs of jeans, 3 bottoms (skirts/trousers), 2 dresses, 10 tops, and 3 sweaters. This is your base for day-to-day wear; you can potentially make over 200 different outfits with these few pieces alone.
>Going out
Pick out 2 outfits reserved for going out. These are generally your more "risqué" outfits.
>Special occasion
Choose 1 semiformal outfit reserved for special occasions such as weddings, fancy dinners, etc.
>Little Black Dress
Pick 1 semiformal LBD (or equivalent). Generally this outfit should be versatile enough to be used for nice evenings out, parties, and funerals.
>Professional
Unless your job requires daily professional wear, you only need 1 suit.
>Loungewear
Choose 2 sets of sleepwear and 1 lounge set (sweat pants, sweat shirt) for those bum around home days.
>Workout clothes
1 set per day you workout during the week, e.g. 4 sets if you workout 4x per week.

Everything else you didn't pick out, store it in a bin and put it out of sight (garage, back of closet, basement). After 1 month, if you have not gotten anything from that bin, donate its contents. Repeat on a regular basis depending on how often you shop for new clothes (I generally swap out a couple pieces every season).

I really liked the method in the book by Kondo Marie, "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up". The basics of it are to get rid of everything that doesn't "spark joy". You do this by setting aside a period of time to focus on one specific category of your stuff (clothes) and get rid of everything you don't love in one shot. Hold each piece of clothing, decide whether it sparks joy. If you decide to get rid of it, thank it for its service to you and let it go. If you decide to keep it, you need to find a permanent spot for it to stay, be it a hangar, or a drawer, everything has a home. It really helped me think about my relationship with my possessions. If I don't love how a piece of clothing feels, or makes me look, I get rid of it. If I absolutely love an object, I'll keep it even if I don't wear it. Try to not be overly sentimental. If I used to love a piece, but don't anymore, I'll take a photograph of it before I let it go. There's no shame in donating clothes that don't work for you, and throwing away really worn out stuff. The only exceptions to this are the things I know I need for work, which may be practical, but not things I love, but I keep a reasonable quantity of only what I need.

If you have nice stuff, some consignment stores have purchasing counters where you can get some money back.

Wow guys, thank you so much for this! Your advice will seriously help me out today.

I am majorly unfucking my habitat. I've done half of the house, and it looks great (though I do regret having such a small apartment, because there's almost no room to store anything. I can't wait for the day when I will have a basement and a laundry room, sigh.)

Why four sets for four days if I have a functioning washing machine though? I only have two sets of sleep or sports wear so I can alternate between them.
>>
>>8846096
This and if being sentimental about clothes is a thing, you could always pick a specific place to donate to - just make sure you follow through! If you remind yourself, "I'm letting these clothes go to help sick kids or victims of a hurricane" maybe it will help you to let things go? Do research, some charities will even pick up from your porch/front yard so you don't even need to haul any of it anywhere.

I've had to let new items go just because I have no space, couldn't return them, and they just didn't fit/work in my wardrobe, and I just thought about how nice it would be for someone less fortunate, or who has nothing, to get these items and be able to use them.

I'm in the process of preparing to move, and I'm trying to go through my ridiculously huge wardrobe, including items I purchased to tailor/redesign for costumes. It's not easy.
>>
>>8846096
>>8846596
These are also good ideas when it comes to decluttering. In general I think the whole trick to stop packratting is that if the object doesn't make you happy or serve purpose then you should probably let it go. There are always people in need of good clothing and just letting it all sit in your living space without being utilized is a bit tragic in itself.

>>8846531
A lot of people don't do laundry once a week and I don't know about you but I will not put on clothes that I had completely sweat through the day before. In retrospect I guess should have clarified that some of the pieces you choose for one category can, will, and should overlap with others, e.g. a tee I designate as sleepwear could also double as workout clothes.

I'm lucky if I do it once every two weeks.

I don't wear dirty shit though, I have like 40 pairs of underwear, socks, etc, and a closet filled end-to-end with "outer" clothes, so I can easily go a month and still have clean clothes. It's kind of a habit that developed after a few years at a crazy job where I often worked 20+ days straight. I'd be so dead when I had time off that I'd sometimes just go buy more shit instead of doing laundry.
>>
>>8846531
Idk about anyone else, but I don't have washer/dryer in unit in my apartment, so I have to pay $3 per load to do laundry, so I usually wait until it's super full, which happens to be at the end of the week, or every other week.

Man that's what I hated with our old place. Even though we were renting a place with family, they wouldn't let us use the washer. I HATED being stuck at the laundromat. My mother-in-law and parents took pity on me and would let me do laundry at their houses so I wasn't wasting so much money doing laundry.

I've been looking at some pictures and wax seems to give a nicer long term finish though the idea of the poly toughness is appealing. It's a chest of drawers and wardrobe so not sure they'd count as 'high traffic' items

What sort of furniture do you need? Are you renting furnished rooms or unfurnished? How moveable does it need to be - do you usually rent a van to move, do you walk/take public transport, do you have a car? You can get cute collapsible dresser drawers but that's not particularly useful if you usually have to lug everything around by hand.

>>8847306
Love that colour scheme.. My room is terribly mismatched (see pic related for the main colours in it) and I would love to just have a beautiful cohesive room - sadly the only thing I can change is the purple (my bedding) and possibly cover the curtains (the white pattern) with a window treatment of some sort.
>>
>>8847306
Wow! My paint, carpet, and furniture wood is in that colour scheme.
>>
>>8847588
My SO is also into minimalism. Thankfully, we can work around it: our big room is minimalist and clean, while i can slightly cuten up the bedroom. No crazy frills (and no bed curtains - booooo) but a nice soft fluffy blanket and a cute lamp does a lot to a room!

So anons, I'm decoratting my kitchen Kitty themed.

I want it to be kawaii cat themed
but NOT hello kitty.

its more of a challenge than it should be.
I have cat paw mugs, and paw shaped ice cubes.

i'm willing to DIY anything I can.
if you know of any kitty kitchen decorations that are kawaii (just paw ones work as well)

Please let me know

That's how mine is as well. When I moved back in with family, I had to fit an apartments worth of stuff in a tiny bedroom. Still haven't figured out how to make it look like these...
>>
>>8844475
What I see is a lot of potential. I don't see filthy hoarder but just major disorganization. Don't take the time to decorate and be all cutesy yet. Focus on sorting out. Trust me you can pack a lot of shit into a tiny apartment. It was a nightmare moving out of my triple dorm room.

I'm major unfucking my habitat too in time for Chinese New Year. I just can't bring myself to buy new decorative storage bins so my room will have to stay ugly but functional. Have to accept that I can't interior decorate for shit.
>>
>>8848041
My problem is when I moved back home I have tons of room but I live in essential the garage and storage room. I sleep on 2 box springs and 2 mattress. I also can't throw out furniture so everything is mismatched.

I'm in particular looking for a full length mirror, a night stand, shoe storage, book storage, and something for my hats and bows. Right now, it's all just in boxes. Easy/cheap to make and dispose of decorations are welcome too.

When I move, I usually have one friend helping me in a small car so it doesn't have to be super light but anything that could make my room cuter without sacrificing ease of transport would be nice.
>>
>>8848421
Full length mirror - get an over the door one and deco it yourself. You could use something as simple as a string of battery powered lanterns (which have the bonus of being able to be taken off easily) or covering the frame with flowers or other cutesy motifs. The best thing with those mirrors is that they will hang off a 3M hook because they're so light, so if your door doesn't fit the hooks you can put it up on the wall.
For the night stand, I would consider getting a collapsible wooden step stool since that will give you multiple layers to put things on and it will also fold down. It can also be easily covered with a patterned cloth or lace overlay to make it more girly
For your hats - cute hat boxes. Depending on what the stores around your area are like, sometimes you can find huge gift boxes that are cute and work as hat boxes as well, but aren't as expensive.
Shoe storage and book storage are more tricky because in my experience the cheap, transportable plastic shoe racks are also really shit and don't usually last more than a year. If you do get one of those, go for a smaller one that holds something like 10 pairs of shoes because the ones billed as holding up to 30 pairs will invariably break due to the weight. For book storage I would go for sturdy and transportable over the cheapest option - and probably something like a wooden collapsible shelf.
Decoration wise, paper tissue flowers on a string are cheap (buy paper tissue, buy nice ribbon) and can be changed to suit whatever room you move to. I would also suggest a string of LED fairy lights which can liven up dark rooms and also just look nice.

I don't really know yet. I want a cohesive theme for my bedroom but I'm currently stuck with not so pretty furniture that my parents took from my grandparents house when they moved out. Nothing says class quite like seashell themed dressers, am I right?

This thread is so wonderful. Now that I have my room to myself again I can do whatever I want with it, but i'm not sure where to start. I have some decent furniture but none of it really matches. I've been thinking of detailing and painting a lot of it to get a nice cohesive look going, but I can't decide between white or dark wood stains. It may help for you to have an "outbox" where you keep a bunch of books you're iffy about. Put your books in a box someplace out of the way and set a reminder on your handphone/calender for 3-6 months later, and once those months are up, re-evaluate if you really want to keep those books. If you wake up in the middle of the night and absolutely want them back, dig them out of the box and find a permanent place for them in your shelf. If you haven't even thought about the books, it's time to let them move on.

Additionally, you're going to feel better if you chose where to move them on to. Check if there's some kind of book donation programs, eg- you can donate it to the local library, to a homeless/women's/children's/etc shelter, Goodwill, etc. Places like Goodwill don't give you money for your books, but once they sell your books the proceeds go towards some other charity or cause, it helps to think about every book you give away as another way of helping out someone in need while giving another person the chance to enjoy a good book. Even if you donate them to the library, think of every book you let go as giving someone else a chance to discover a really good book you once enjoyed.

Get these and put the books and sewing supplies inside and stuff under your bed. It will keep your surroundings more organized also preserve your books better. These boxes can go as big as you want. Went to Michaels today. They're having a sell on their memory boxes $2 each.Useful for both here and the sewing room thread. They're a good size for sorting accessories and other smaller stuff in your room. Also roughly about the size of a shoe box. So might be a nice way to organize some shoes. Especially if you get matching sets of boxes. I picked up a couple white boxes today to sort sewing stuff in.

Because it's not that easy to afford a house you can actually decorate, and when you do it's usually more like a WIP rather than magazine ready. I've seen quite a few people post nice WIP/finished rooms on this thread but they don't usually get reposted for inspo.
I've been renting in a newly renovated house belonging to a friend, but I'm still working out furniture, not allowed to change the walls and actually can't put anything up so although I can afford nice things, I'm not in a place to decorate freely.

I'm a big Halloween nerd so I fell in love with it when I saw it. I swore if I ever moved into a place where I could have my own sewing room, I'd deck it out in a Halloween motif. Maybe not specifically NBC stuff, but the same kind of vibe.

You could still be renting your own multi-room flat by your mid-20s though? There's a middle ground between living at home and owning a home.
>>
>>8866566
That really depends on your budget and cost of living. To get a two bedroom place near my husband's work costs about $1,500 without the utilities. Where my parents live, they rent a 3 bedroom house without utilities for $1,000 a month. It's easier for some then it is for others.
>>
>>8866638
Wtf? 3 bedrooms for that price? Shit... I had to pay $300 a week for a single bedroom... Urgh its way too expensive in Sydney...
>>
>>8866664
My parents live in the high desert in socal. I remember finding a site that calculated the cost of living depending on your family size. My friend lives in a place where $15 an hour single income could support a couple with a kid, where we live. Single income needs to be like $7 or $8 a more per hour to support the same size family.

Sorry for being OT, but I live in Denver (I've lived here my entire life,) and getting a studio apartment is around $1,000. I have a good deal with my $1,200+ utilities one bedroom, but the appliances are shit. I'm hoping I can try to move a bit outside of the metro area, because rent is a tiny bit cheaper outside of the city.

Contributing with a cute Cinderella themed room.

Painting the room would help a lot. It's not a good colour for a room. If you're in love with the colour, go full goth and paint all the furnature black.

Get some real curtains like suggested.

If you're going to keep that bed, remove the stickers/cards - new paint would be ideal - a bed rail would make it look much nicer, it would hide any mess if you can't make the bed easily.

How much room is under the bed? Remove the dangly shit. Either put a desk under there and make a cute sewing/study area. The paint under there clashes something awful with the walls. If you can only repaint a small section, paint that. Move all your posters under there or get rid of them. If you painted that section white you could have a little nerd cave - a white clean look with that kind of stuff will make it look less cluttered. This room has potential but the clashing colours are a big thing to overcome.

Honestly I know that it looks like shit but for the life of me I usually end up just fucking it up even more. The room color was my idea and now I think it's a little too late to go back to white. If that's the case is there still a chance I can make it look nice? I've been pretty strapped on money lately so I don't know when I could really start on making it look nicer but if it helps I installed a nice looking curtain rod. I'm a fucking dumbass (with no sense of style) and forgot to buy curtains though, which is probably for the best since I would've probably picked out something ugly anyways. Since I'm stuck with the walls (for now hopefully) what color of curtains should I get?

Also thank you so much for your criticism. I really appreciate it and I honestly just want a nice looking room. I moved around a lot when I was younger so I never had the chance to really decorate a bedroom so now all of my impulses with decorating just kind of shit on themselves. Also to further my reasoning on why I should never be trusted decorating I made this for the back wall of that orange part

No anon, I'm just that shit at existing/decorating. I also added a few Osomatsu posters above my computer though. I think the framed one looks kinda nice. I know this still looks bad overall but they're just placeholders until I can get something better. There's 72 packets in all if you're wondering. I actually bought the ramen just to work on that too. I really wish I was trolling but I'm honestly just that bad at decorating.
>>
>>8866730
Jesus, Anon. You need to get opinions from other people before you make decorating choices from now on.
>>
>>8866800
Holy shit you even managed to fuck up putting stuff in frames. The idea is that the space around the poster is even, or that the poster sits flush with the edges of the frame.
I suggest you do some looking at regular interior design websites for at least a month before making any design choices, I know that they aren't weeby but they will give you an idea of how to choose coordinating colours, and how to display things like posters.
>>
>>8866730
This could be a cute idea if you used better/cuter wrappers. Smooth them out and laminate them maybe? If they were neater looking it would help, but I dislike the type of ramen packages you used.
I've actually saved, cleaned and framed some Japanese snacks I was sent as kid from a penpal.

I know I do, and I did ask other people for their opinions but I feel like they weren't being honest or have the same shit taste. Would these shelves be acceptable? I've been wanting some hanging shelves and these seem cheap enough. Also I think I'm going to paint the walls a white or creme color. I even thought a very faint mint but I don't want to fuck things up again.

I think you should do some planning before you start buying stuff. Try to find a good color scheme. Find out what you can change and what to plan around.
If you don't want to change the purple, you can paint just the orange and maybe do something with the weird pink carpet? One color plus neutrals is easier to work with than just bright colors.

Paint all the walls white or VERY VERY VERY faint mint. Like, so light you can barely tell it's mint on the sample card.

Paint all your furniture white.

Throw away the ramen. Garbage is not decoration. It's garbage.

If you want to frame a poster, measure the poster and buy a frame with those dimensions. ONLY PUT ONE POSTER IN A FRAME JFC.

You can also refinish furniture with decoupage.

You can cover a shelf with old manga/newspaper/whatever

I have a couple old tankubon from the 90s that I have been meaning to tear up and cover boxes and maybe an old chair or nightstand.

But like everyone has said you can get decent furniture for cheap or free off craigslist, from college students moving, garage sales, and even the dollar store.

A tip from my first apartment. Get one of those kitchen in a box sets from amazon, ikea, or even target if they have them. It has pretty much everything you need from utensils, cooking pans, to a knife block for $35-60 bucks. Not the best stuff imaginable but it lasted me for years.

I personally recommend printing off A4 prints, and buying the size of frame that lets you use a mount (the white surround), saves ruining your own posters and looks classier.

Assuming you have a printer, access to cheap ink and A4 photo paper.

Oh yes, use photo paper, anything else will give you an awful result.

The two osamatsu pictures together in one frame would look better if you had taken the time to line them up properly. You're better off putting them into two separate frames.

Unfortunately it seems I don't have very nice walls to work with.. (just been "fixed" after earthquake damage repairs..) they're a pretty depressing looking mixture of grey and white plaster right now which is a real shitty downer.

What are mats for posters and prints. Also Custom framing is cheap at both Joann and hobby lobby with a coupon in the US.
You do konmari once for everything (which may be a huge undertaking if you have a lot of stuff yes) but then you never let it get unmanageable again by only making mindful purchases once you are done with your sorting. Some people break it down into categories or sections. It's harder for some people than others. It's not for everyone, some very sentimental people want to keep every candy wrapper so they fail at konmari completely.
>>
>>8871414
If the walls aren't smooth, look into a textured paint or plaster treatment or even wallpaper or best yet, paneling. It's a thankless task to try to keep smoothly painted walls if you get earthquake cracks.

If you are saying custom framing is cheap then you are delusional. You don't have to frame stuff to have a tidy room. Especially if you might lose interest in what you bought last year and then toss the poster. $20 for a custom frame job isn't cheap. For a lot of people. Not to say this isn't good advice for some people, but you need to realistic. Even with coupons, custom framing isn't as cheap as just buying a thing of tacks and just putting the posters in an organized manner on the wall. Its cheaper to buy a frame pre-made to fit a poster, but sadly artists don't always print in normal sizes. At least then I would agree to cheap framing.
