Open leather jackets with metal studs, and skeletal t-shirts are not in the game. The closest possible thing would be pic related, and those are two very different looks. And the shorts are always black with a stripe down the side matching the ink color.
So aside from the hat and shoes, there is nothing "accurate" about the clothes at all.

What would be so simple is to just get a fake NES zapper gun and cut off the cord and use it as a prop N'Zap

How is talking about the costume, saying it's not well done, and calling out inaccuracies irrelevant? She wasn't bitching about OPs looks, or weight, or the game, or players or any other shit that would be irrelevant. She was just talking about that exact cosplay and how bad inaccurate it is, despite others claiming it is.

I was thinking about cosplaying Callie in the near future, and was thinking about maybe using pic related for her romper. It's a performance fabric which has a nice iridescent look in the light but I'm also afraid it's way too shiny. On the other hand, I also don't want to default to using sequined fabric because I'm not crazy about the texture.

Thoughts?

Whoa, that's pretty much the exact same fabric I bought for my Callie! I don't have any pics to show you (it's very much in-progress), and obviously I'm a bit biased, but I really do love that fabric. It's hard to find sequined fabric that looks right and not tacky, and I think the sparkles in this one give it a good iridescent look. Mine was 2-way stretch though, and it looks like yours might be too, so you'll need a zipper somewhere to keep the bodice tight to your body. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure this fabric is two way stretch so I'll definitely get a zipper!

Because Callie and Marie have the lacing in the back, would putting the zipper on the side be easier to maneuver instead of having in in the back? Also, do you have any suggestions for making her romper? I was going to try and modify a bodice/poofy shorts together, but alternatives are good too.

I actually used the same fabric for Marie anon! I actually love how shiny it is in the light, wish I could show you a picture but all my photo's are unflattering or not showing the fabric well. It also has a nice stretch to it as well.

Yeah, I'd recommend putting the zipper on the side- that was what I was going to do as well. The lacing on the back wouldn't have to be super functional in that case. As far as the romper goes, I'd say combining a bodice with a sweetheart neckline with some puffy gathered shorts would be a good way to go. I was considering putting a line of tulle in between the lining and the fashion fabric just around the hips to give it that extra poof, but we'll see if that works out.
One more tip- a lot of people do the pink ribbed parts without stabilizing them properly. They end up looking wonky or baggy as a result. There's a lot of good stretch fabric-to-stretch fabric applique tutorials out there, so make sure to check out one of those. I'll be doing the same.
