Her gimmick is "calorie counting" of all things--too many and you become a physical damage fatty, too few and you become the skinny caster. Sometimes you are a bat. It's cute.

She's an hourglass under that outfit, which is a shame because outside of Zarya all of the women of Overwatch have pretty much the same silhouette.

true, but with all the padding she wears, she gives a larger silhouette and someone larger could easily cosplay her. and she does have larger hips, boobs, and arms than someone like widowmaker, for example. and honestly i feel the same- i like seeing diversity in female designs from a design standpoint (plus girls like mei are definitely my type) but a lot of SJW types go overboard by adding unnecessary lumps, stretch marks, etc. it's stylized, they dont need to have photorealistic bodies. overwatch has great diversity, but i feel like people are still going to complain/make random characters fat/black/etc (sorry for OT rant)

yeah, it kind of defeats the purpose of it being stylized- in reality, a girl like mei would probably not have perfect smooth skin, but since she's a cartoon, there's no reason to add cellulite, stretch marks, etc. its the same reason she doesnt have two clearly defined lips like an actual human- she's stylized, and some features are left out for ease of drawing and cohesion of style

While I absolutely agree with you on this point and am not wishing for a classic twitter witch hunt on the devs, would it really kill them to make an old, grizzled, or otherwise unattractive woman? Or have made one of the robots or non-humans female-leaning? Zarya is JACKED, but she is by no means ugly.

Pokemon has a lot of options for bigger women.

There's also literally hundreds of possibilities for gijinkas, and almost every pokemon could be designed into a costume for a bigger woman.

Large oversized clothes. Also, her shape as a yordle is more pear shaped than either Poppy or Tristana, so she would work great for someone who carries more weight since large skirts make it easy to hide the extra weight.
