Oh man, I have so much to contribute. Vocaloid cosplay makes me so nostalgic. I remember when at any con I went to there were at least three Mikus. Now I have to actively seek our Vocaloid cosplayers at cons.

Back in the day I used to cosplay Miku with my friends as Luka and Neru. It was really fun because they were starting to get into making cosplay (hand-made the entire default Luka and Neru outfits as their second cosplays ever) and they were just so great. I just got to wear things they were kind enough to make for me too.
Sorry for rambling, I just haven't see Vocaloid cosplay in so long and it makes me sentimental lol. I miss and am so grateful to those friends for getting me started in cosplay and making so many for me.
To make up for this spiel I'm gonna post a ton of cosplays to contribute.

Oh man i so feel you anon. I remember being so obsessed with vocaloid all through middle school and early high school. Akuno-P was my favorite producer and i spent hours on wikipedia and youtube trying to piece together and fully understand what was happening in his whole series of songs. Is he still making songs? I think i'm gonna go try to catch up and see what all he has released since i stopped obsessing over vocaloid. It came to a point though where i kinda grew out of it though i guess. It was probably when my huge weaboo phase finally calmed down into casual liking of anime and stopped listening to J-pop so much. I just remember wanting so bad to cosplay a vocaloid but i just didn't have the money of sewing skills. I kind of want to cosplay it now purely out of nostalgia. I think i'll try to dig up some of my vocaloid cosplay pictures to dump in the thread.

yeah, same here! I'm the anon you replied to. Every six months or so I get back into Vocaloid for a short bit and find new songs, but like you said, I just kind of grew out of the obsession and only continued to listen to a few select J-pop artists with casually liking anime. Back in the day I loved anything cute that sounded good and nowadays I have a much broader liking for different songs and meanings.
Akuno-P is great, and yes, he still makes songs. My favorite producer as a kiddo was Hachi-P but since a few years ago it is Kikuo - I love all his sounds, imagery, and very dark/tragic stories told in a light way.

Holy heck do I miss the old days when there was always new PVs and costume designs. I pray for some sort of Vocaloid revival era.

Anybody still cosplaying or planning on cosplaying a new/old module/outfit??
Id like to make a Cyber Neko Kaito outfit, and plan on getting a Senbonzakura group together, but its hard with most of my buds floating away from anything Vocaloid related nowadays..
I try to cosplay Miku as often as I can with the groucho mask and look for other fans at cons, but recently decided to be Rin since my bestie has always been Len (still gonna wear the mask, and have my friend wear a banana costume in their cosplay!)

I also wish there were more Gakupo cosplayers out there ;_;

Not anything thats good or accurate. As an Akunofag it kills me that people STILL cosplay inaccurate shit from years ago when the official outfits are so good. Someone even won the AX Vocaloid cosplay contest last year with the ugly yellow and black outfits from that popular Servant of Evil PV. They were well made but, really? THOSE outfits? Ugh man, being an Akunofag is suffering.
