I'm guessing /c/ is still alive and safe somewhere since /can/ looks to be a whole new board I think. All of the /c/ threads are still up on the mobile app I have and all 50 tabs I have open still say the /c/ threads are up and on page X.

I've heard it said that /c/ is the best board on 4chan, but I've been there a few times and it's just endless fan art with nobody saying anything. Posting actual words is discouraged, and there are no new images of Sakaki-san or Homura or any of the Lucky Star girls, so it's just hundreds of threads of autistic doodles from fujos. Well discussion isn't frowned upon here. You can get some casual show related discussion in occasional threads or even people talking about their own lives (for example people talking about how they picked up guitar or drums in a k-on thread or people talking about work that Ume Akoi is doing in the Hidamari thread). When people say /c/ us one of the best boards I'm guessing they mean that the people here are very friendly and the board itself is pretty comfy. It's true that some threads are only a handful of people posting the same pictures over and over again but /c/ is also a place to share new work or anything related that could be of interest to some people; you have to visit multiple threads and spend a ton of time here to get the whole experience. As someone who considers /c/ to be their home board I consider it more than just a DeviantArt lite and there are others here who share the same feelings.

Again talking isn't a big deal, people won't call you out or tell you to stop, people here like chatting (although it just might take a while for someone to respond depending on the thread). I understand your dislike for unofficial art though, there have been times where certain threads are kept alive by extremely low quality pictures by one or two people and it really is sad to see since that limits the kind of content you would see when browsing the /c/ catalogue.
