Did anyone else think rebellion was dumb? Why didn't she just go up to heaven with her? Is the world at the end the real world? Does madoka not save people anymore since she pulled her out of the sky?

I'm sure you're not the only one person to ever hold this opinion, can't say I agree with it though.

Pic related is 90% of the issue at hand, really. Seems like you really could use watching Rebellion one more time, if you really want to understand it.

Yes, what else? Did you miss when Kyubey said the world was being rewritten? It is no less "real" than the one that came into being after Madoka's wish removed witches and brough wraiths and grief cubes as their replacement.

Wraiths are heavily implied to still be around instead of witches (or nightmares), both in the film and stuff like the concept movie. Meaning there still is something going on to prevent the soul gems from hatching into grief seeds when they're full.

Also, I have to point out that it is kind of rude to start this /a/-related tangent here without even a Homu pic to accompany your questions. It's not that I'm looking down on peple for talking about anything related to Homura here, but this still is a board for posting images more than a board for discussion, so it's not the best place for that.

Because Homura's wish was to protect Madoka. The promise she made with Madoka was to protect Madoka from Kyubey (which she is doing)mand to prevent Madoka from becoming a magical girl (protecting Madoka from herself). Shinbo said if Homura had gone to heaven, Kyubey would have just kept doing the experiment until he won and thus Madoka would always be in danger. Shinbo and Urobuchi both says Madoka's fate was too much for her to bear on her own, so Homura is not really wrong in regard to Madoka's happiness.

The Only You Rebellion Guidebook says Homura controls the Law of Cycles with the power sealed in the earring. Homura took on Madoka's role as god and now bears the burden of the universe on herself. Shinbo's going for a yin-yang sort of thing and the likely end game is that they bear that burden together, but for now the sequel bait ending is where we are at.
