I think I'm at the point that I can reuse titles right

Oh I forgot to mention the link is for the old thread.
Does anyone have the lain picture where it's just the details of her face against a white background, staring straight out, her mouth open? She has red eyes in the picture. I believe it's an illustration based on the opening pv.
Sorry it's not much to go on, but I remember seeing it months ago and can't find it anywhere.
>>2899645
I don't see anything quite like that in my folder, but it's possible I'm just not seeing it.
I'll keep my eyes peeled.

>>2899645
Never mind, looked further back through the archives and finally found it
Won an auction for this production sketch. Does anyone know what scene it's from? I was sure it was from the playstation game but can't find any scenes where she wears these slippers.
Does anyone else here have art from the show or game?
>>2900645
This is after she gets home from Cyberia iirc.
>>2900701
You are so right! Thank you. I had confused the cowl necked sweater and skirt for the cowl necked lab smock she wears in the game when working on her father's body.
>>2900719
I actually really love that scene, that's a great sketch.

You're really special, Lain Art Anon. I'm glad you're here.
>>2900978
Aww thank you anon!
I'm here to stay.
Please correct me on this one, I was reading the posts in the previous thread and I'm I understanding this correctly? Since Lain from the game and anime are different Lains, this suggests they made multiple Lains that are all connected to the Wired where some parts of her personality is stored. I'm imagining there are this whole storage of Lains and Lains prototypes somewhere. Is it possible that there are multiple Lains at the same time, I don't mean on the Wired, but it he real world, since Lain is a project of Tachibana Labs wouldn't be logical that they are "testing" multiple of them for more efficiency, they just might be spread around the world so that they can't interact with each other in the real world. I'm probably way of with this, but I would appreciate your opinions.
>>2901503
It's possible, but I don't know how likely it is.
I always get the impression Tachibana is a rather small, but highly influential, organization.
I have no basis for that though.
A storage of Lain prototypes is a cool idea, but I don't think they'd have too many live experiments going at once. They're pretty resource intensive, not to mention dangerous.
There really isn't any way of knowing this for sure though, it's all speculation.
>>2901503
As other anon said I believe in universe fabricating a person like they did with Lain is immensely expensive and difficult. In the game it goes further into that when Lain is building her dad, she barely manages to make a 3rd of a person before running out of resources. And although Lain has many personalities I don't think she could maintain more than one corporeal form this is just my own "Theory" though. Not really based on anything.
>>2901728
>>2901910
Thank you for your inputs, it does make more sense to just be one Lain at the time, but I wonder how many Lains there were before the one from the anime.
Anyone here watching the new season of Twin Peaks?
There's multiple versions of one of the characters and a sort of evil connected to electricity and wires, couldn't help but think of Lain while watching.
>>2902822
Is it any good so far? I hope so I was looking forward to it, but will probably wait until the season in finished before watching it and I have to rewatch the first two season to refresh my memory.
>>2902870
Yeah it's wonderful, far exceeding any expectations I had.
Has a lot more in common with Lynch's other work (Mulholland Drive, Lost Highway, Eraserhead) than the old seasons did but it's still Twin Peaks underneath. It's just so damn good.
>>2902822
I'm embarrassed to say I haven't even seen the old ones.
They've been on my list forever but I've never gotten around to it.
>>2902937
Wow I'm kind of hyped now, I was afraid it will turn out bad or something, I'm glad I was wrong.
>>2902942
You should see them when you hate the time, they are great and don't forget the movies.
>>2903163
That's a comfy Lain

I wish I could find a bigger version of this one.
Please kill me. I made that one thread on this board.

Thanks for being willing to listen to me.
I don't know why I continue living.
I'm useless and can't even hold a conversation with someone without shutting down.
It's all my own fault too because I choose to stay indoors for extended periods of time.
Lost interest in social interactions.
But realize it's essential if you wanna progress in this world.
Everything just seems so superficial. Friendships, coalitions, etc.
No substance at all.
>>2904461
Don't doubt that.
>>2907839
I can relate anon.
I used to be exactly the same, but I've worked on it a lot over the years and have gotten a bit better. It's a very slow process.
Though I don't think anything will ever be easy or natural for me irl. It does get easier.
I'm not the best person to help, but we're always here to listen if you need it.

Was Juri a nod to Lain?
>>2911495
There's definitely some similarities.
And there's the name too, one of Lain's friends is named Juri.
There is an Alice is Tamers too, but Konaka just seems to really like that name.
>>2907839
Similar situation to me almost. I'm a complete sperg who has never fitted in with anyone and has pretty much given up on social interactions. It's to the point where I do my shopping in the evening to avoid people and it takes me a couple hours just to gear up to make a phone call.
As you can probably guess I have depression which might be quite obvious and just want to die. I also have AS and am getting some depersonalisation symptoms. All fun I guess.
If it's any consolation, take solace in the fact that you're not as pathetic as I am.
>>2911756
Well anon, I'm also in this kind of situation. I had a group of "friends" in highschool but I always had this unfitting feeling, and when I moved to another town as a student, I went full reclusive.
I had this think about going to the male at night or not going to the hairdresser.
For 3 years long I didn't talk to anyone at college.
I had a period of drinking for 1 year.
Well life is fucked up for our kind, I just gave up on human contact and I hope I can start to make myself feel better by working hard in CS field and learning some creative skills, but I really doubt since I have interest in too many things to be efficient and I feel like an empty shell when it comes to create things.
Here is a little robot I found about, few years ago I was always dreaming of a Lain-shapped bot who would be as friendly as possible to all the lonely guys around the net who'd feel the need to talk.

>12 dollarydoos a week to talk to a fucking chatbot
o i am laffin
Anyone with the kind of ''''''''''''problems'''''''''''' that can be solved by a fucking chatbot doesn't have any real problems.
>>2912286
I'd say anyone who'd pay 12 dollars per week for it does have some real problems.
>>2912286
Kek.
Firstly, I didn't say it was going to resolve any problem. Secondly I didn't even notice you had to pay for it since the article I read about it did'nt mention it and I don't have facebook so I couldn't test it.
My bad anons.
>>2912286
>>2912292
Though I think that this kind "fucking chatbot" would be a pretty good thing for someone who's affraid to talk to people and won't see a psychologist.
It is my case, and I think the whole datas and nice talk thing would help a little to get a better mindset and feel less lonely.
Maybe it sounds stupid to you, but I always wished I had some kind of imaginary friend to fill my daily life with at least some understanding and kin interraction, no fear from being judged or rejected.
I must save the Lain thread!
>>2912888
Thank you anon!
My work schedule has been weird lately I'm all out of sync.
New thread will be up soon.
