Sorry, don't know sauce, but the McCree/Phara dynamic in the comic warms my heart and the way mercy looks at him leaves a lot of room for story.

Kinda off topic but does anyone else feel as if the games a little broken right now? I'm a high gold player and keep getting put against masters and gms in quick play as well as getting constant lag despite having a good connection

In terms of matchmaking in QP, you mean? They do say you in Quick Play that they try to match you with players around your level, but I do play with a lot of Masters (more than just the ones that are 500 or more below where Masters should be) in QP. It doesn't really bother me, because they don't usually put teams full of Masters versus Golds in any case.
