by remake you mean the 2011 shitty prequel or are we talking about the 1982? Since The Thing has the original which was 1951 called "The Thing From Another World" which is just as great as the 1982 one but 1982 has that great charm.

The closest you can get is mostly Ghost movies and Zombie movies as a genre and no individual films. Could be wrong though since I haven't checked up much about Koume in some time and might of forgotten something.
