I'm actually in the middle of watching it for the first time, and to my surprise, I'm really enjoying it.

I've been really impressed since all I remember of it was the horribly neutered dub "Cardcaptors" that cut out 21 episodes of material, and tried to appeal more to boys by focusing as much as possible on Li, and action episodes.

What I think is the most impressive about the show, is the consistent animation quality.

Tell me more anon. I still remember going through the two hells that are Tokyo Mew Mew and Shugo Chara, the prior was totally predictable Monster of the Week shit and the latter was very similar, but with much better characters (by the second season, you're watching it ONLY for the characters). Both also had horrendous paces, if you cut out the MotW shit, nearly 80% of both animes would be gone, and little of value would be lost.

What makes CCS stronger? As I've said, I remember very little about it.

My favourite is how theu animated Sakura's sealing wand pose separately for each of her costumes.

You can thank NHK money for that. I think it was originally mastered in HD which would be a big deal in the late 90s.

Sure, CCS is the show that made my screenshotting habit fully blossom. I rarely took screenshots when I started watching it, but by the end I had a couple thousand, with many more to add.

Its quality was such that here I am, 5 months after finishing it, still dutifully bumping its threads on /c/. It's part of my life now, and I enjoy it.
