There's not much to it. Watch the NGE series, then EoE.

Some people will tell you to watch the first half of EoE, the last two episodes of NGE, and then the second half of EoE. Don't do that. Don't watch the Rebuilds either!

1 - Watch the 26 episode show (theres 4 episodes that have director cuts, those are preferable)
2 - Death & Rebirth is optional if you're a first timer
3 - Watch the End of Evangelion
4 - There's the Manga which you might want to check out if you end up enjoying Eva.
5 - And there's Rebuild but that's a different beast.

I think it's really interesting that the theatrical Death and Death(True) has finally been released on the BD. Especially since it seems like Death(True) removed the directors cuts scenes and (True^2) added them back in for some reason.

I don't know, I personally find when she's just there to be kind of unlikable personally. She's just sort of robotic at that point, compared to the original Rei or Rei Q I guess is what people call her before 2.0's end.

I do agree however, she seems likely that as she gets older even into her mid-20s that she's just kind of an awkward book-worm. That's not really sure why you're talking to her.

The Rei that replaces the original Rei in the anime and the Rei that replaces the Rebuild Rei for 3.0 are just very robotic, that's what I'm getting at. I just always assumed people called the Rebuild Rei, Rei Q. I don't keep up with it much honestly.

The other part, like she's confused as to why you're talking to her out of all the people to talk to, because she's just a awkward girl.

Which is why I never bought the argument that detractors make that the TV ending was just because of budget reasons since the second part of EoE becomes the same kind of thing too, just with nicer animation as you say. I'm sure budget meant they had to cut the parts that would have looked like Rebirth/Air, but both endings feel like the proper ending.

It was budget and time constraints.

The stuff from EoE was generally edited in later.

I think you're right, but I dunno if Rei has anxiety. She just has a bit of a blunt affect to social situations, even though she has a heart of pure gold. She isn't awkward per se but just doesn't give much of a fuck.
