How do I get a six figure job?
>>
>>997639
Get a degree in Mathematics. I make 300k and can get any job I want.
>>
Sales.
>>
>>997683
Selling what?
>>
>>997639
Go to college
Go to an in demand trade while the trade is peaking for 5 years then be fucked for the next 15
>>
>>997696

This is true. My Grandpa made over $200K managing a construction company back in the 80s- early 90s. He was a materials manager and cost estimator. Now with new technology, competition, Mexicans, etc. he is only paid $60K at the company he works for now that builds labs and plants for Merck Pharma. .
>>
You have some options.

>Law
>Medicine
>Finance, as a Hedge Fund Manager or Stockbroker
>Mid to senior level corporate job at a large company
>Intelligence agency
>Start by going military, and if you aren't able to work your way to an upper level officer position then you go corporate or become a merc

I'm not throwing entrepreneurship in there because you said job, so I'm assuming that you're seeking employment rather than self employment.
>>
>>997703
>Law
Not unless you're willing to dedicate 30+ years. But otherwise this anon knows whats up
>>
>>997818
Good friend of mine just made partner at 42 and is pulling in 700k after bonuses, been making 100 for many years
>>
>>997703
>military
Its fucking useless. You're better off enlisted in the military then leaving four years later. Pick a good job in military and you'll be in demand. Intel monkeys in the military do well post-military. They take the same jerbs as the officers. Intel is experience over degree.
>>
>>997818
>be thinks it takes 30 years to earn 100K in law
>>
I'm guessing you want six figures so that you can attract a wife to raise children in the right sort of setting for them to get six figures.

Seems a little futile and boring, doesn't it kiddo?

lots of things - stockbroking, recruitment, real estate....

but how you get a six figure job depends what you're good at

if you've got low EQ you'll suck at sales

if you've got low IQ then doing a post grad degree in a STEM subject would be dumb

if you can't sit still and study/rote learn stuff for prolonged periods then medicine isn't a good choice

there are lots of ways to earn six figures - whether they're suitable for you is another matter entirely
>>
I'm studying Math with CS classes, what kind of jobs can I get with this?
>>
Major in science or engineering then wait for inflation.
>>
>>998161
if you are studying it, shouldn't you know that?
>>
>>997651
How hard was it to get that degree?
>>
I dunno. I'm stuck at 60k apparently.
>>
I find it disturbing that the goal is still to earn a 6 figure income. After all, millionaires from the 80s are now billionaires in todays market. More millionaires have been created then ever before.
However, the wages have stayed the same for middle and lower class for decades. And the best goal is to reach a 6 figure income. Despite the rising cost of a new car and house

America has deep deep problems
>>
>>998214
>a new car and house
there is your first problem m8
>>
How do you make 300k with math or is this a meme from a different board
>>
>>998229
meme bro.
>>
>>998214
the main problem is that we as a society incentivize being lazy at every turn. Don't make enough to support yourself? It's ok, have some Section 8 housing. Oh, it sucks? Get a job. But as soon as you make more than minimum wage and start trying to better yourself, you make too much to qualify for housing and medical benefits. For a lot of the people in the struggle, it's better to have a shitty, low quality of life than to risk it for something better. It's classic case of coming up against the unknown and risking what you have for the chance for a better life, and most people have fear and obligations riding them too hard to make what I see as the right choice.

This is a major socioeconomic problem that no one in politics will touch with a 20 foot pole, but it's pretty much the main thing keeping people in the struggle. None of that changes the fact that it's a choice to be lazy. But it makes more sense when you can see that choice as something that might make rational sense to people.

This doesn't even begin to address rampant spending habits and the inability to save that is the hallmark of any non-forward-thinking person.
>>
move to a place that takes it all away from you because taxes are 10000% and it costs $10/lb. for some chicken thighs
>>
>>998194
It's math, its only as hard as you are good in math.

if you are a math wiz, you can do it with some effort. if you are potato at math, then you wont make it through basic college math
>>
>>997639
Work in a country with hyperinflation. Felt pretty good the first time I withdrew $20US from the atm and it gave me a ten million dollar bill.

If you don't want to move, I've heard the best way for people who aren't too bright is in sales.
>>
>>998229
It's a /sci/ meme, couple of years old too
>>
>>997639
You have to know some rich people and mingle with them. Who you know is more important than what you know.
>>
>>997703
>Medicine
Top kek, show me where
>>
>>997703

> become a merc

This is clearly the only choice. Travel, adventure, cool scars and you'll be buff. Chicks dig that...cultured and shit.
>>
First job after computer science was 130k. Just work for banks / fintech
>>
First job was 170k after software engineering degree
>>
>>997639
It's very simple op. I myself know dozens of people that make well over 200k a year. I'll tell you how. First you have to make sure that you get a good quality pair of knee pads from home depot. Be sure to buy the nice, high quality ones don't be stingy because you're going to need them. Then practice shoving large objects done your throat like cups, golf balls, and scissors. Lastly be sure to stretch out your sphincter by stretching it using a large kitchen knife but be sure to heat it up first with a blowtorch for at least 5 minutes so that if you do accidentally cut yourself you won't get infected and instead you'll instantly cauterize the wound. Then after you've been "practicing" for a few weeks its time to get to work. Sell all of your possessions on ebay except for the knee pads so you can buy a plane ticket to china. They love white people over there. Find an area to hangout preferably behind a dumpster next to a busy street. Then start sucking dicks and taking it up the ass. If you're white then chinks will probably be willing to pay you more but if you're not that's ok. Just to be conservative here's what you should charge. For every dick that you suck charge them $5 and every time you take it in the ass charge them $10, be sure to give them a special discount if they choose to fuck you up the ass and face fuck you, say $8 for both. If you work seven days a week, fifty two weeks a year and you suck an average of 5 dicks a day and get fucked up the ass an average of twice a day and get fucked up the ass and face fucked an average of once a day then in a year you'll make $19,345 a year! Given that the median net worth of an American is $44,900 after accounting for taxes, your knee pads and your plane ticket you should have roughly 40k in savings: $40,000+$19,345=$59,345. You'll be sleeping inside the dumpster.........
>>
>>1001038
kek
>>
>>1001038
(continuing from previous post).......so you don't have to worry about paying rent or for heating and since you live in a dumpster there will be plenty of food and rats for you to eat as well. So if each year you're making $19,345 then after 10 years you'll have made $193,450+$40,000=$233,450. After you've accumulated almost 250k it's time to start investing which is what this board is all about. Find a library, you'll have to break in because otherwise they'll kick you out since you'll probably smell, and go on /biz and ask how to make six figures. Take some time to go through all of the shit posts and memes and think long and hard. After reading the bullshit and stupidity that is /biz you should realize that no one on that board makes anywhere near 100k+ and that you've wasted your time. After realizing that you actually seriously asked people on a mongolian meme board how to make six figures you'll probably feel so stupid that you'll want to an hero. What you then need to do is find a Chinese arms dealer and buy some c4, currently it's about $13.25/lb so you should be able to buy about 17,600ish lbs after accounting for taxes and buying a detonator then proceed to immediately blow yourself up because you are on stupid fucking faggot if you think anyone on this board knows how to make six figures you fucking retard. Anyways, I hope that my guide helped you op! Better get started now those dicks aren't going to suck themselves!

>Intelligence agency

These guys really make a lot of money? What kind of majors are they looking for?
>>
>>1001023
This guy is obviously speaking for American audiences not the cucked and capped Doctor salaries of Europe where a Doc makes like 60k. Here a doctor makes 150-325k. It highly depends on luck if you are a rare type of surgeon people will give you the most extravagant bonuses imaginable and 300k starting.

Law is supposedly highly dependent on where you graduate. If you graduate from Asshole U you make 30k.

Also in the US its insanely monotonous but hey if you get a little lucky you can make giant bucks.

Basically to get a top job at the CIA, you need a interesting science or proper art degree like psychology, know computer programming and a obscure foreign language. Most of the CIA is office workers anyway. You don't need to be a uber badass to be at the CIA unless you MUST be James Bond. Then yeah I guess... you must train as if you were going to be a pro athlete and risk your ass doing Navy Seals and be a trained sociopathic habitual liar.

I think to be in a PMC you just need to be ex-military and learn everything you can about warfare, drones, have been in actual combat situations preferably leading platoons and getting men killed so you can prove you are tough under pressure and won't psychologically break down. That can be fun as hell and make you mad loot as merc who gets to seize assets won in battle especially.

Aren't most american doctors cucked by insurance companies?

> offered 6 figures working at some silicon valley meme company
> turn it down because i don't want to live in communist California
> work in "muh oil" 2 years ago making $70k in Texas

> going to be making significantly less anywhere else I go

Live in NYC or SanFran.
>>

Something interesting to add, the type of medical specialists with the greatest effort to salary rates are dermatologist. they'll remove warts and stuff in minutes and might even send you to get stitches from the plastic surgeon across the street, all while rolling in their pile of money from your insurance company. Their work is definitely valuable, don't get me wrong.
>>
>>997639
>Asking how

You'll never make it. I have a question for you though.

Why do you deserve it? What do you do to deserve it?
>>
>>1001224
That's an invalid argument. There's not a single living person deserving of a six figure pay.
>>
>>1001441
Well, it could be said: had wages continued to match productivity growth (a la the many decades before Reagan), the median wage would be in the low six-figures right now. Thus even the average worker could be said to "deserve" six-figures.
