Okay so I've been NEETing it out for like 1 year now, going to college next year, 2 years late basically

Anyway, I have 8 months experience in a real business (department stores) as a Sales Associate, did a lot of Customer Service and mainly shilling products to people during the holiday seasons, and did good at it, I also restocked shit and stocked new off the truck stuff, as well as reported stolen merchandise and shit, so I did a bit of everything you can do in a store (made it a point to learn a lot)

My other 'job' isn't really a real store job, since it's all online, but I still got paid for it... so I'm not sure if I should put it on my resume officially or not.. Hear me out. So I've been playing this PC game since like 2012, anyways in 2013 June I got offered to be an In-Game Helper by the Game Manager, and he said since its hard to count my hours, they would just pay me every week, like for as long as they needed me and I wanted to do it. I am one of the top players of the game and I've devoted a bunch of time to it, so it's really like a 24/7 job except for school and work for 4 months out of the year, but I'm on the game every week for like 20 hours (mostly weekends), anyways I'm VERY well known and liked in the community

I was getting paid $50 a week, or $200 a month, for not doing much except gathering info from players and relaying it to GM, then making events for players on the forums, and reporting hackers, reporting server crashes, and stuff like helping players IN GAME, and teaching people about the different game modes, BASICALLY you could call me a Moderator, but I had a lot more roles to do, so more like a Global Moderator that oversaw a team of people and helped new people in the game, as well as came up with ideas and shiz

Is it something I can put on my resume? I genuinely am so good at it, I could probably run the game myself, how should I word it on my resume? How should I make it sound professional since its a damn video game?
>>
>TL:DR

I got paid for being a Moderator and "In-Game Helper" in a video game I've played since 2012, and I got paid $200 a month for it, and I'm still getting paid

Can I put this on my resume? Will it be childish as fuck?
>>

yea op put it on your resume. It shows you're a hardworker and a skilled young man.

• Aiding in creating events for players on gaming forum, as well as in-game
• Helped gather data about items players would want to go on sale and what they would buy
• Aided in creating official announcements for Moderators and Game Masters
• Aided in helping various players from new to knowledgeable answering questions about different aspects of the game including Game Modes and the Buy/Sell Area
• Helped many new players get a start, explained various aspects of the game, how they could use it to their advantage, etc
• Created and lead various successful, well-known Teams in the game, of about 25 – 40 people from around the world and made sure people were on time to various events
• Taught my Team how to come up in the game and learn various skills, made various videos for the Game community explaining various gaming events and wrote many write ups on the game forums for people to be able to follow news and exciting new arrivals to the game

This is kind of what I'm writing in my spot about the job itself, is this fine or is it too much?
>>
>>992298
I wouldn't put that on your resume, bro. Although you get paid for it, it's not a real job. I used to make like $1000 a month buying and selling stuff on the Diablo in-game marketplace but I would never admit that to any interviewer.
>>
>>992309

Yeah but I was hired for this position, by the Game Manager/Master himself, and I've been kept on subsequently with all the new Game Managers and Masters, and they've all been introduced to me, and I'm basically their eyes and ears in the game because they don't have a lot of time to play the game itself since they're working on other games as well
>>
>>992309

The type of job I'm looking to get is mainly going to be a Pizza Store clerk (back room, and cashier) and then maybe a Car Dealership sales job, nothing serious really, mostly mom and pop stores, and franchises, and then a Car Dealership (subaru/hyundai maybe)
>>
>>992312
If this was a thing you would see a ton of World of Warcraft players adding thier accomplishments to thier resume as well. Just because you got paid to play a game that you normally would for fun doesn't make it a legitimate job. The only way I could see this fly is if you were a video game tester and even then you might still get a good chuckle.
>>
>>992323

I got access to the Alpha Server and I do get to test game updates early before other players (1-2 weeks early)

CAN I PUT IT ON NOW?? THAT WORKS RIGHT?

HOLY SHIT MAN THANK YOU
>>
>>992325
Lol sure why not
>>
>>992323

I would literally laugh out loud and then tell you to get out of my office if I saw someone put videogames down on their resume.

>>992326

Nigga I got paid

also, 1 more thing

My work for the game job is so far 2 years 7 months, and my work experience for the real stores is 8 months

So do I add the two, or just say 2 years 7 months since I worked at them for the same time? If I added them, its 3 years, 5 months, if I put them together its 2 years 7 months, so how do I say as an overall thing, how long I've been working?

Loli simulator 2015
>>
>>993043
if it's a known game (WoW, maybe RS or something similar at that level of "hype") then definitely but if it's nowhere near an MMO then don't.
>>
>>993038
>>993052
this is to you / anyone really, good luck anon.
>>
It's best to be upfront about your video game addiction.

From a manager's perspective, once we've hired you, and the truth comes out, then it's a long and tedious process to document your performance and ultimately legally terminate you.

If they decide to knowingly take the risk, then you don't have to feel bad when they get around to firing you.
>>
>>992369
Yes this is a great idea!!!
>>
>>993052
>if it's a known game (WoW, maybe RS or something similar at that level of "hype"

>Putting fucking runescape or WoW on your resume

holy shit i want to see this in person
>>
>>993065
Recently recruiting manager told me, note we are far from burgerlands
>i love WoW, it has 12kk subscribers, why would i search for anything better?
The whole sentence started after i said 2000s were golden age of vidya, and currently there is nothing to be deeply interested in.
Yet another interview in IT-sphere gone wrong. And we discussed recent cinemas too.
You don't say about vidya nor porn if you aren't applying to said field.
>>
Hey /biz/, I used to moderate on Runescape private servers, can I put this on my CV?
>>
>>994993

I'm doing it, so of course you can, ITS 2015 BRO
>>
>>994993
soulsplit?

I got banned for fucking botting thieving you fucker

i wanted to buy virtus you god damn piece of shit

whatever fuck you i made like 20b staking lol
>>
>>992308
Just make it sound like you're an employee for the company and not a player that gets paid for doing random shit.

Also if you plan to include all of that shit in your resume then you're fucking up. Each job should have a maximum of 5 bullet points, all under 15 words.

>Taught my Team how to come up in the game and learn various skills, made various videos for the Game community explaining various gaming events and wrote many write ups on the game forums for people to be able to follow news and exciting new arrivals to the game
This both means nothing, and makes you seem like an idiot.
>>
>>994993
>>995051
why did you fags ban me on soulsplit?

hello

i just wanted full virtus to pk retards in edgeville with zammy spear

fuck you niggers
>>
>>994993
>>995051
>>995115
HELLO

I JUST WANTED FULL VIRTUS

WHY DID YOU DO IT

I WAS BRIDDING AT ICE PLATEAU KILLING RETARDS WITH CHAOTIC MAUL AND D CLAWS
>>
Not op but I have a quick question about resume's. Should I just remove the objective portion from my resume?
>>
Maybe put that you where a Paid Moderator for a video game company?
>>
>>992308
capitalizing random words looks awful.
basically you should play the whole thing down. make it look like you were doing SOMETHING other than being a sales associate, but its a fucking video game so you dont really take it seriously
this whole thing comes across as trying way too hard. one or two sentences at most
>>
>>996540
this desu and nothing more. explain if they ask
