Why in the fuck did my wife's mortgage vanish from her credit report?

>ex husband signs her on (2003)
>3 years later, still on the same loan.
>5 years later same
>10 years later it's disappeared. Gone. Not reported as closed, it's nothing.

I've got docs from 2 years ago showing the loan on her report, and ones from this year showing a blank canvas.

What in the fuck just happened?

120k just up and vanished.

ex did NOT refinance (first stop). Nothing crazy credit wise. We check our credit weekly and noticed a rather large chunk had disappeared.

Thoughts?

My best guess is the that the bank the first loan came from was bought out by another bank and there was some lag there before reporting took place.
