Alright /biz/ lets talk business cards. What styles do you prefer? Minimalist? logos and other shit? Let's hear it.
Raised lettering, pale nimbus. White
Mine are very simple. Name, what I do, some contact info, and on the back I have QR codes for stuff too. Don't even have a logo, just a simple gradient.
I ordered some reinforced ones that have plastic corners, but wound up not using them. Too expensive, and most of my clients aren't going to be impressed by them. I am contemplating doing raised lettering on the next batch of them in a couple of months.
Mechanical engineer buddy has these thick cards that you can assemble into a catapult to launch anything smaller than a nickel with. Extremely cool, and also stupidly expensive.

People have an innate preference for clean and neat presentation.
>small, simple logo (the less detail and number of colors the better, think BP or Pepsi)
>Arial or Calibri font (easy on the eyes)
>Company name, your name and title, and your business contact info. all on one side

Can someone explain the purpose of business cards to me?
We have social media thesedays, i just throw away business cards if someone gives one to me; preferably right in front of their face.
I don't have a business, but I do have a business card, for myself I guess, more of a self-marketing tool.
I ordered about 250 of them, they cost $2 each, and they are metal, with a coating, (black) and it has very low cut outs with my information. Works for me, and I don't give out cards often, I've only given like 15 of them away so far.
Has my name and title (firstname lastname MD-PhD). The logo is just two stripes at a 45 degree angle on the top left corner, and nothing else. The back of the card has my phone number.
Feels great when I give them to people, its like ice cold to the touch, and just screams "I'm better than anyone, hire me" or "be my friend"

For my next set, I'm contemplating coloring in the cutouts as well, in Bijan Yellow or something, same with the stripes. But not sure about that, because I like the stealthy look right now, but I think I'll need to add more color once I actually get my business registered and gain a good client base.
>about to post mine
>realize suddenly
>It's an exact duplicate of Paul Allen's
>mfw good taste
I've been trying to design something like this, a very difficult logo, but my Photoshop skills are horrible, and I don't want to pay $5000 for a design :(

Just screams "I'm a giant self-promoting phaggot" to most normal people FYI
