thinking of entering either a quant or high level finance related field, will math degrees get me there and what else do I need to know that isn't a part of my degree?
In a good school, totally worth it
Otherwise you'll be forced to do a masters for the same benefits as a bsc from a good school
300k starting bro go for it

A masters (at least) if you want one of those jobs. Otherwise you're doomed to hold some shitty $120k-$180k per year doing spreadsheets and sql statements in IT.

I think my school is a target school (UNSW, go8 in aus). Does this mean I have a good chance of breaking into the industry and then getting the firm to finance my masters? Do I even need the masters?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA JUST GO ALL IN ON DOGE YOU FUCKING NIGGER
If you had to study for your math classes to get A's in school, then your IQ is too low to become a quantitative analyst.
