Hi /biz/
What's the best lazy job where you sit on your ass all day and rake in the hourly? I just got out of an IT job that was pretty much all that, just day traded crypto all day and fixed the odd problem that would spring up now and again. I miss getting paid for doing fuck all. What other jobs can offer that kind of experience?

Might be beneath you since you were an office guy. But get a CDL and be a trucker. UPS pays me $35/hour for such an easy job. Plenty of easy overtime as well. I get to check my shitcoins between runs.

I used to be a lifeguard, I literally sat and looked at people for money. Took naps during my breaks.
Now I'm a construction inspector for my state's DOT. I inspect work that the contractor does.
Problem is, most days there isn't any work so I chill in the office doing whatever I want. A typical day for me is come in at 7, fill out the but of paperwork there always is to do, etc. Usually takes me till about 7.45. After that I'm free to do whatever I want. I usually step out if the office to go get breakfast and smoke a joint at around 8:30 or 9. Come back to office, eat, sleep, wait for boss to go home. He's usually out by noon, Ieave 10 minutes after him. Most days I'm home by 1pm yet still get paid till 3:30.
I haven't been on site since beginning of September, before that was July.

I basically do the same thing as an accounting associate for a software company. I literally just close my office door from 12-4 and trade crypto.
software engineer. you make 6 figures to tell you boss you haven't figured out a bug you figured out weeks ago yet.
Being a cashier at CVS is pretty easy. Would make for a good second job.

My nigger. Do you have an engineering degree? Did you work for a private firm after college or did you get hired on by the state right away?

online marketing / ecommerce (ebay, amazon, etc) are very idle jobs, but learning the ropes takes time (years) to perfect

Don't you have to work in the warehouse a year before they let you join the union

Can I make quick money with this ?

Yep, graduated civil engineering last year. Started working as a junior engineer for the DOT right after school because I did well on the civil service exam. Happened to be lucky that they were being offered 9 months before I graduated, so by the time I got my diploma I had already done all the menial paperwork and was on track to start the day after school ended.
Google "NYS DOT TCI", that's the position I had as sort of a summer internship for 2 years before graduating. I was doing the same thing I am now but for much less money.
I don't make a whole lot, only 53k, but I was never a great student and didn't apply myself. I wouldn't make it to turner/skanska/any of the other big boys.
After a few years here in trying to get a gig with the Port Authority. After that, who knows. I don't want to work private though, they get overworked. 12 hour days for 80k right out of school is the norm here but that's not my style

Depends on location. My area is 33 months j believe. And I'm not saying UPS specifically but just a CDL job. Op asking to sit on his ass all day.
