Go on coinbase. Buy some bitcoin and ethereum. Hold it. Forget about it for a few years unless you want to buy more, or you want to use it to buy something (repurchase more btc/eth when you do this). Check the price in a few years and be pleasantly surprised. Don't watch the price constantly and panic sell at a dip like a noob. It dips a lot.

I liked some of the videos made by 'btckyle' on youtube. It's a good introduction to exchanges and some cool tools that you can use. There's definitely going to be different strategies if you want to do day trading vs doing more long-term trades. You should decide first how much time you want to spend.
