People talking about the blockchain without understanding that the blockchain is good because it's tied to the price of bitcoin are stupid.
It costs $1000 to mine 1 BTC (just the electricity cost)
And it sells for whatever it sells, if it sold for less than that, less people would mine it, and the power of its blockchain would be diminished.
blockchain is nothing without the monetary power of people buying its coins.
Why would people mine a coin from a bank?
Do you think banks who want to use the blockchain for themselves will just use their own bank's computers to process transactions?
A closed blockchain is useless, might as well have a regular old database
