Make an account on coinbase. It is a huge pain in the ass. When you go to add your bank account, make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom to be able to verify it via deposit instead of giving them your password. It will take a few days, and then you can buy

If you want to trade shitcoins you need an account with a site like bittrex which you fund from your coinbase btc

If you are afraid that they will abuse your ID then ask a friend to buy you some bitcoin. I asked a guy on twitter to pay me 1000$ worth of bitcoins. He sent me 100$ worth of btc I sent him back 100$ back through paypal and this continued until we got to 1000$. You can do the same but maybe change it up a bit. Tell him to send the btc to bittrex (best place to buy crypto) and ofc tell him to correct address. After you do that buy the cryptos that you want and store them safely.

I made an account on Kraken and went through all the ID verification only to find out they won't accept GBP.
