They all went off to the bitcointalk ANN where they cried and cried to the dev, who then had to come up with a reason to pump the coin.

The reason he came up with was, he'll just arbitrarily say you can buy a lump of shit in the street for 1 ETH, or ten of the dev's lumps of shit. That doesn't mean the dev's lumps of shit are worth 1/10 of an ETH.
