why does my private key restore a different address than what is printed on my paper wallet and what shows up when using utc file?

Because you picked up two different private keys somehow. The UTC file is an encrypted private key and your password decrypts it.

yeah you're definitely using two different addresses

double-check you can access an address before putting any funds in it because it sounds like you're close to fucking up
