I keep on breaking into my savings and even though it has been put to fun use I really need to save up £10k by next summer so I can buy a house do it up and rent it out.
Now I already have a few hundred in premium bonds.I got them because they are safe they are backed by the government and to withdraw my money I would have to actually wait a few days to get it.As an investment its rubbish.I think I got £500 worth 13 years ago and I have had 2 £50 wins from it.
Would I be better of investing in any metals or maybe currency ?
I wouldn't mind a little tiny risk of my money but the main goal is to just save it so I can do a bigger investment in 10-12months time

if you want safe just put it all in btc and expect it to be at least doubled in a year.

Look, Schiff has been wrong in the past....
If you have 10 month, 12 month timeframe, buy a Golf ETF
Go to Halifax, open a Stocks & Shares ISA, you can subscribe £20k a year. Buy a Gold ETF.

I use Vanguard for Total US, FTSE 250, emerging markets etc. About 6 index funds.
Yes that's for the long term. I intend to go semi-retired, then retired; I don't want to touch my investments for at least 15 years.
