can anyone give me a quick rundown on lightning network, why some people believe it will lead to centralization and why bitcoincore supposedly censors stuff?

>lightning network
>payment channels
>open channel + close channel = 2 transactions
>impractical for one time small purchases -> a coffee etc
>leads to payment hubs that have channels with each other
>banks all over again
It's basically uninventing what bitcoin was meant to do; remove 3rd party trust and give you control over your funds, p2p cash.
I don't like that core tries to push this 2nd layer bullshit down peoples throat instead of letting it compete.
But it's a false sense of control on their part anyway, the market will sort it out.

couldn't have said it better myself and they only reason they need a second layer, is control and fees. Like with a bank.
