Hello fellow millionaires!
What's the best way to store BTC long term if my jewish roots tell me not to pay for hardware wallets?

bitaddres.org
create a paperwallet and use bip38 encryption
print it out and lock it
also upload it to a cloud service of your choice (preferebly mega.co.nz)
if you're really paranoid, upload it as an encrypted zip file
Best way is to give them to me. I'll keep them safe for you.

coinbase vault is a pain in the fucking ass
takes THREE DAYS to pull coins out of the vault and back to your main account
fuck.
that.
Don't bother with crazy extra encryption or hardware wallets. You want something easily recoverable but hard to recognize.
The most common way to lose cryptocurrency is not theft, but rather neglect or stupidity. Keep it simple and safe from YOU.
Memorize your mnemonic phrase.
Then write it down in a notebook anyway. Fill the notebook with other word salad nonsense like a jimson weed addict. And put that notebook into a fire safe.
You now have a backup that makes no damn sense and can access it with practically any wallet software even without that backup.
