how is there value in software algorithms?
Ask Bill Gates.

iterative store of value based on expectations of growth OBVIOSLY
The value is given by the complexity of the problem it solves. Example: Antilock Brake Systems (ABS) work using an algorithm that manages to decide when a wheel is about to lock by determining if the movement of the wheel is near chaotic or not. The equations to solve that problem are brutal, and the datafeeds (provided by the wheel sensors) are extremely fast, so the better the algorithm to solve them fast, the better the system will react.

In the way they affect the value of things they can directly improve, like cost, speed, reliability, consistency, safety, ease of use
>automation
>machine learning
>error correction
>integrity checking
>compilers and interpreters
>numerical analysis
>sorting data
>data mining
>navigation
etc
Putting aside that the question is dumb, nobody is buying crypto because of what it does. It's purely people trying to flip something for 20% gains every 30 seconds.
So basically all you crypto traders are funding (((google))) research into having total control over every aspect of your life EXCEPT your crypto wallet.

Thank you tinfoil man for destroying another rational conversation.
