Howdy biz
My wife and I are putting away about 40K a year into savings. However I dont like money to just sit doing nothing for us.
Whats a good investment I can put it in? There's always an annuity, but that barely covers intrest rates.
Im thinking maybe investing in a local buissness, a bakery is desperately needed in my rapidly growing town. Plus I enjoy baking(pic is a loaf of sourdough I made). My mother has a MIB specializing in small buissness startup, so id have help there.
What else is there?
Just put it into vanguards and retire 10-15 years later
All in on DNT. It's gonna pump soon.

75% stocks, 25% bonds.
both of which should be held as ETFs (vanguard)

Letting the money sit in a savings account (even one with a solid interest rate like Ally) is a bad idea because it will get eaten by inflation.
This all depends on your age and assumes you're 20+ years away from retirement, here's the order I'd go in:
> establish emergency fund of 1 year's expenses
> max 401k
> max IRA or Roth IRA
> pump the rest into a brokerage account
>> invest in low cost index funds and bond funds - the allocation asset will depend on your age
Then if you're feeling really frisky, throw some money into crypto so you can enjoy hanging around the retarded mouthbreathers on biz.
