Worst that is going to happen is that we'll get our eth refunded.
The addresses are not smart contracts so they can really do whatever they want. My guess is that they will just not bother with any refunds.
Everything is speculation right now so I can't really give you any definitive answers. All they've really confirmed is that multiple addresses ARE allowed so if they don't refund us we'll all get our LINK at least.
