You're probably smoking Indica which is more for relaxing/sleep, try a sativa dominant hybrid or pure sativa strain if you want something that's more energising.
Also if it takes you a few days to reach normal mental capacity, you're obviously smoking too much. Slow down and take 1 or 2 hits then wait 15-30 mins before taking your next hit, if you goal is to get high.
Otherwise If you're smoking/vaping for the medicinal benefits, then 1 or 2 hits will be enough.
