Just curious, how much money does the average popular channel make per video?
I've heard anything from $7 per 1000 views to $1 per 10,000 views. Advice online is all over the place.
So I come to you masters of finance.
>hey whats up guys today we're going to be talking about fidget spinners DAB
these are the only people making money, every other category of youtube like tech reviews and how-tos are already filled by early entrants.

You would be happy getting 20 cent per 1000. This assuming your audience is in US or a rich european country.
7 bucks per 1000, if only.

how are people making a living then if they only get 20 cents per 1000 views
a moderately popular channel gets 500k views weekly, so they are only making $100 a week?
no way
It's hard to say how much a video gets paid. You don't get paid via views but instead on ad Clicks
So let's say a video has 10k views but only say gets something like 1000 clicks at say 3 cents. So that video would earn around $30
It all varies
Last video I put up is at 32,000 views. I received $45 so far.

No one knows about sponsorships, youtube channel groups?
They make also make cpm directly from youtube. Others have twitch, patreon, merchandise or other "give me money right now and maybe ill make a video that you might like in the future" shilling payment options, that stifle creativity and innovation, in return for income security.
In the pic google uses a person who earns 70$ for 20k views example, so maybe that might give you a clue.
From many sources i've seen over the years, it seems that $2-3 per 1000 views is pretty much the average. Or was back a couple of years ago last i checked this.
Pretty much just people with a good agency, popularity and preferential ad deals make more.
If you make non-advertiser friendly content, expect to make basically fuck all these days.
i know you asked for average but it depends on the ads being shown, which depends on the type of content.
if you have a channel where you do something esoteric like review chicken tendies from different fast food chains. if there's no advertiser out there advertising anything that's related to your channel or audience because your audience is a bunch of NEETs with no money who never click on or buy anything, ad inventory on your channel isn't going to be worth much.
there's almost certainly some info out there about youtube ad rates for different verticals (categories), but if not then look up rates for Google Adsense since that's what Youtube uses anyway. (I remember adrates for mesothelioma were among the highest, for example.)
