So... I've tried getting rid of unprofitable coins, buying the ones which showed a steady promise, however no matter what I do it seems that I'm constantly losing money while waiting for random moon missions.
I feel like I'm a slow learner, I'm comfortable admitting to that. Only thing I've noticed is that jumping on bandwagons usually ends with a catastrophe, despite what some /biz/ memers advise to do.
My biggest question is how can you tell whether p&d is ending? This seems to be my biggest pet peeve, I can't tell for shit how long coin is going to hold it's value.

There is no way to know when a P&D ends.
A few months ago, i chased P&Ds on Bittrex, i got in really early most of the time, and the only thing i did was updating my sellorder every few seconds without submitting.
I did look at the orderbook aswell, tryin to figure out where there will be too much sell pressure and got out just before it dumped.
But orderbook is only the makers, you never know when a taker sells 10btc worth of coins instantly.
i read the stochastics. when the lines cross, its a good time to move
