Any of you sheep fuckers here?
Do you pay tax on crypto gains in your country?
Ausfag checking in. Am guessing it's similar to whatever our rules are... Anyone know what they are?

No capital gains in nz at all if you hold for more than 12 months. If you make a habit of trading in and our of NZD then they treat it like regular income. Crypto-to-crypto trading before back to NZD is less clear but generally capital gains isn't applied if you hold more than 12 months.

fucking wheres a reasonable eth fiat exchange in this shithole

When you say hold, do you mean if you put $300 into BTC on 18/7/17, you can't remove it until 18/7/18, otherwise you'll get the tax? Like, you can't transfer it between different coins during that time?

cryptopia? lol

Cryptopia is easiest thing I can find now.
Bank transfer to their acct with your ref id, get credited within ~12 hours with an equivalent number of NZDT ($1 = 1 NZDT) then you can trade this on the exchange for BTC, ETH etc.
I haven't tried it myself, but plus500 is available in NZ and has cfds you can use to trade crypto with. I've seen some anons mention it on biz, but I doubt they were from NZ.

Plus500 doesn't let you own actual crypto and is always leveraged (1:10 up to 1:30 depending on the coin). It's alright for trading but useless for a hodl strategy.
Where are you guys buying BTC? Everywhere seems like a rip off or a massive drama.
Localcoins is literally triad chinks who demand all your details before trade

I'm talking about taking it in and out of NZD.

Use Independent Reserve. It takes kiwis cuz

So technically it counts from the day it is converted into a coin, until the day it's converted back? Regardless of how many coins it is put into during that time?

Definitely a question to ask an accountant. It's something that would have come up before long ago, with regards to swaps of capital assets eg stock swaps.
