As a rule of thumb, you don't have to take anyone's word, but in this case I know this because its pretty easy to monitor daily volume variations using the Bittrex API, which you SHOULD be using on a daily basis btw.

In fact, the buy volume I'm talking about happened on Bittrex's BTC/BNT pair alone, I'm not even counting the volume of other exchanges/pairs.
