Of course, most altcoins will provide a specific service and that's how they'll stay relevant. Few like LTC will just be a "lite" version of btc for everyday use. I'm not saying it will for sure happen but that's round about what would occur if mass adoption continues to occur.

Governments making laws around crypto, essentially validating it is a pretty good sign that it may very well stick around.
