Ripple's market cap is $6 billion, their trading volume is shit

NEM's market cap is $2.5 billion, making them #6 and their trading volume is 1/10th Ripple's.

What gives these two cryptos so much value? why are they worth more than the others? Did anyone else assume ETH and LTC were #2 and 3?

Don't pay too much attention to volume, it's easily spoofed. Volume can go to infinity and the price won't change, if it's coming from both sides equally. While it does give an idea of the interest in a coin, volume is irrespective of direction; crash volume looks identical to moon volume
