Also there are tons of bots you can use to follow people that use certain tags or follow certain people. Those work way better than tagwhoring

You can't make profit on Instagram. I tried something much more ambitious, had automatic cute video compilations. Eventually I stuck to YouTube for profit and Twitter and Tumblr for reach (easy tags, huge range).

Instagram and Facebook are pretty much closed ecosystems, you can try to promote on them as much as you want, but you will always bring more profit to Facebook than to yourself. They are designed to take a lot and give away very little.

Nope, you can't even imagine how many people are watching YouTube, even random stumbles with good title and thumbnail give you a few thousand views with a non language specific content.

Youtube is great for making money if you use it for making money and leave your ego out of it.
