Is Donald Trump a good, talented businessman?
>>
No. Anyone with half a fucking brain can get Trump rich with a trust fund.
>>
Yeah, Trump's a good guy. Made more money since he became president than I ever have in my life.
>>
>>3003850
so why havent they?
>>
He understands the part of business that entails selling an image of value and that's it. He knows fuckall about making actual economic decisions.
>>
Who the fuck is they? Any kid with 500 millions from daddy stashed away? Well I'm sure most of them are happy at that. Not this greedy, narcissistic fuck.
>>
>>3003894
Wrong place Anon. This is a pro Trump website.

>200 days in, hasn't fully staffed his administration.
>Completely dependent on Democrats to stop blocking his nominations because of Muh Rusha.

Really grinds the old gearbox.

Trump has the ability to sell an image. Whether that image actually succeeds is up for debate. But he diversifies, which is why he's been so successful over the years. There's always something else cooking away on the backburner just in case the main dish catches fire. He's already made his millions, so if something he made burns to the ground, he just pays the fines and moves onto bigger and better things.

My one concern for the Presidency is that he hasn't shown all of his cards yet, so there's a chance that if he meets enough resistance (from both sides of the aisle) he'll just fuck off to something more lucrative. But the progressives are so focused on the shiny red cape he's waving that they're completely forgetting the anvil behind it.
>>
>>3003850
I'm kind of wondering about this meme. Trump and his siblings inherited twenty million from his father and now he's worth over a billion. Does literally anyone from the eighties have fifty times their assets from just putting it away? Doesn't that sound fucking stupid?
>>

That was actually a really great post

>Yfw learning that he'd literally be richer if he had stuck it all in indexes

Also he was allowed to fail once (at least once) and got bailed out by daddy but that's neither here nor there
>>
>>3004000
This.

Im not an American and people here are making a big deal about the best Korea thing, but anyone with a brain knows it's a distraction from something else. I have no idea what since I haven't been following politics lately but I guarantee there's something else happening quietly in the background.

Donald Trump has dominated real estate, reality television and American politics. There are two kinds of men in America, those who voted for President Trump and insufferable faggots.

Yeah I'm sure Mexico and JYINA appreciate that.

And even if he wasn't loaned anything at all, he still got a minimum 20mil inheritance which is a lot more in today's money and he would have more if it were stuck in indexes and left
>>
>>3004177
Considering his entire political strategy is "get the best people, the most tremendous people to do it", it's not much of a stretch.
>>
>>3004266
You realized he made himself millions before his inheritance right?
Also I doubt 20 million in 1999 would have become 10 billion in 2017, unless you're one of those literally retarded people who thinks he's poor
>>
>>3004360
What kind of retarded strawman is that? Who said 20 mil in 1999 dollars = 10 billion ([email protected] if you think he has that much btw) in 2017 dollars?
>>
>>3004360
Oh and that's cool that he made himself millions before that, lucky him. I wish I were given 1 million for free and then more if I failed.
>>

LOL

Anyway, I'd have done quite well if I had a small loan from Dad too.
>>
>>3003840
He's not a great businessmen, but he's a great property developer and an even greater self-publicist. I can't think of anyone who is better at self-publicizing than him, the Kardashians look rightfully like amateurs compared to him.

Everything from the cut of his hair, the golden tint of the windows on Trump Tower, to the thick sharpie he uses when he writes on press clippings about himself to send back to the reporter in the hope of more coverage, or the way he will brag about a "small loan of a million dollars" is all designed with the purpose of getting his brand in the news again, again, and again.

>most of his "wealth" is debt
Welcome to the world of business.
Not everybody is Warren Buffett sitting on 100 billion in cash. Nearly every billionaire you see either owns equities which owe a lot of debt or built their wealth through credit.

Formula One Group has a 1.4 debt to equity ratio. That's for a company that outsources nearly everything they do (Broadcasting equipment is owned by Tata. Catering and Security at the Paddock is always outsourced locally)
Coca-Cola has a 2.0 debt to equity ratio!

Credit is (overall) good! It's what separates us from the pre-Medici dark ages. It's what allows for innovation in the West.

Firstly indirectly you can (pay on your credit card. Start a leveraged FX account and use profits to pay your rent. create a deal with your landlord where you offer them a service in exchange for not paying rent [inb4 serfdom. inb4 kneepads]).
Secondly just because you personally can't pay with credit doesn't mean it's a pointless enterprise. You can't pay for your rent with cancer drugs - does that mean cancer drugs are bad!?

business degree is probably easiest degree, and definitely a meme degree, unless you have connections and a million dollar loan ofc.

im not really impressed by Trump as a business man.

i just know how simple it is to take a large sum of money and make more money from it.

i dont hate the guy. i dont care either way.

but be realistic.

if you cant take a million bucks from your parents and go into real estate and make money , then u have to be like... really really dumb.

i mean if you have that much money , honestly you can just hire others to do everything for you while you sit in your office and diddle yourself.

but hey good for him for not squandering his fathers money. thats cool .
>>
>implying that if you were given a loan of a million dollars you could turn it in to 3 billion dollars.

>>
He's not yhe greatest businesan ever and he's not a fraud. But he is mostly better at advertising or surviving at times of crisis (see the early 90s crash) than he is at actually managing a business
>>

Who is gonna be the first to Civil War or Coup?
Turkey or Venezuela?
Venezuela seems the weaker one, Erdogan seems to project more strength.

>>3007887
It may have been called a "degree in economics" but it was actually in Real Estate - that's the reason he transferred to Wharton. (incidentally, briefly he was a Broadway producer with dreams of studying at UCLA film school to be a director.)
He's a great property developer, but he's not a great businessman compared to

Carl Ichan is a better executive than Trump! And Ichan isn't even a CEO, he's an investor who only steps into an executive role when he needs to fix up things for a sale. Trump is somewhere below Travis Kalanick (I mention him because Kalanick and Trump have a similar combative, publicity hungry style).

If you're looking for world class CEOs look at someone like Carlos Ghosn, who we know isn't a fluke because he has had repeat successes on two different continents!

You're best off comparing Trump to 'dealmakers' like Bernie Ecclestone and Carl Ichan - both are guys who while not as good at publicity as Turmp (but both very good at it) are probably far better negotiators and far better investors than Trump.
>>
>>3007936
its actually much easier than you seem to think to do this
especially over a span of 50-60 years.

ESPECIALLY , if you were buying real estate in new york city 50 - 60 years ago.

think about it.

some people have created multi billion dollar business with little more than a laptop computer and a few years .
its actually kind of pathetic that he isn't a trillionaire by now if you ask me.
>>
>>3007936
you just keep reinvesting the rent money from your million dollar property , into more properties that produce more rent, this starts to increase your ROI exponential , this concept is called compounding interest .

a nutless chimp could do it.
>>
ITT: If I were given a million dollars I'd be a billionaire too. I totally am not just basing this on the hindsight of Trumps entire career.

What's the theory called? The one where stupid people generally overestimate their abilitys greatly, whereas smart people generally underestimate themselves.

He's succeeded in three extremely difficult fields. Politics, entertainment and business. No matter what retard bloggers say, his fathers money would've been squandered by 90% of the population.

FV = Future Value
PV = Present Value
r = compounding rate (NOT in percentage form)
n = number of compounding periods, compounded annually, in this example

FV = (1 + r) ^ n
$1billion = $1millon x (1+r)^40 (40 years)

1,000,000,000/ 1,000,000 = 1000

1/40
0.025
Math.pow(1000,.025)
1.1885022274370185 - 1

= .18 * 100

18

you only have to make 18 percent on 1 million
year over year compounding to become a billionaire.

WOW. lol.
>>
>>3003840
He is very good at networking and self-promotion, so yeah that makes him a talented bussinessman.

I always laugh at people saying he is stupid, the guy became POTUS while being a total outsider and crushed all the GOP elephants and political dynasties like if it was nothing with far less money, he manipulated media talking about him non-stop, doing his entire promotion and he managed to be liked by the rural electors despite being a Jew York golden boy his entire life.

He is maybe not very cultured or sophisticated but he has a super impressive level of energy and drive that I wish I could have (despite being fit and in my 20s), he is smart, no doubt about that.

"create a deal with your landlord where you offer them a service in exchange for not paying rent..."

Sorry what? I have never, ever, come across an example of this, ever. What is this? This is a severely retarded statement.

Do you really think any normal sane landlord in a city larger than 10 inhabitants is ever going to say: "nah leave the money you can paint the house instead".

Reality check, they even rent out fixer-uppers for a discount but then you gotta fix it yourself.

Goddamn. Also "start a leveraged FX account and use profits to pay your rent....". WHAT? You do understand that it takes significant skill to make above marginal continuous profits on FX. Most "traders" fail and lose money.

I am sorry anon but your entire reply is just an insult to mankind.
