Can a more technically literate anon explain to me how ETH would even function with such high gas prices? Doesn't the cost of running the network go up when the price of ETH goes up and wouldn't that decrease the likelihood of companies using the network? Won't the digital economy work similarly to the regular economy in this regard?

The gas price is designed to move and adjust according to eth price.

Dapps use gas which is the backend gearing mechanism for ETH. Dapps dont use eth directly.
